A wav doesn't necessarily have all the audio a CD has, wav files can be saved at various frequencies and can sound really shitty too. It just so happens, that this particular one is lossless. Get yourself an 8k wav and it will sound pretty damn shitty. Sorry about the colour but I found it impossible to type outside of the quoted text!

Normally I can type outside the quote but for some reason it was impossible when quoting that last post!

Absolutely this Prince wav is lossless and that's fantastic. I just don't like blanket statements when trying to explain to someone why it's a good thing. They may get the impression that any time they see a wav file it will be CD quality, which simply isn't true .

Saying something is awesome because it's wav is like saying something is shit because it's mp3. There's good and bad in all of them.

RnR Remix 7 is the jam.

As others have said last month it really is "Jamie Starr" like. Great to have it on a proper audio track that I can listen to in the car etc.

I keep expecting it to go into the Lady Cab Driver guitar wailing. It fits so well with that type of production.

I have honestly tried to like the remix EP of Rock'n'Roll Love Affair but the remixes are just too harsh (especially that beat). This on the other hand is one of the best remixes of a Prince song I can remember.

Are we to assume Prince remixed this one himself? Superb job if so.

Have you ever done an honest ABX test? Most people can't hear the difference between lossless and 320k mp3. Some people can but they are very few and respect to those who do hear a difference but a lot of people put down mp3 just becasue they know it's lossy rather than actually being able to hear it. Most have never done a comparison to know for sure that they can tell the difference or not.

Personally I can distinguish 256 / lossless but even then, only when hearing them together. I couldn't just listen to one on on its own and tell you which was which. At 320k I can't even tell in a direct comparison.

If you've never done the test, give it a try, you may surprise yourself. But like I said, if you can tell the difference, awesome. I'm so glad I can't .

I think it's the most successful, convincing update of Prince's '1999' sound that I have ever heard.
