Montreux DVD - err no thanks Prince, I got that show a while back. Sigh.

Hey...so now u try 2 blame it on Prince that he is about 2 release HIS material which u got earlier in an unofficial way? That's all sorts of wrong confused

Ain't it just! Maybe it's a little late coming but moaning about it because we previously had some stolen goodies just doesn't make any sense!

From what we've seen so far, it actually bodes very well.

The only thing I don't understand is that we don't have to go hunting around an obscure website to find the content. Can't be official.

RIP sad

Can everyone refrain from using the word "Masterpiece" for a moment please!!! brick

First of all let's get this out of the way: It's a horrendous URL... done.

"Screwdriver" sounds like a 20Ten demo out-take... beit much better than some stuff he's put out in recent times (I'm sorry "Rock and Roll Affair" was straight up bland..)...

The video conccept is at best, "One Song" pt. 2, innovative at the time.. a tad passe today - but it does the job at least.

Whether you already have Montreaux or not, it's getting an official release, although despite it's three hour tag, it'll probably be edited a la Rave & Live At The Aladdin by Prince himself, UGH!...

The website is not NPGMusicClub - that was over a decade ago...

Having something simple yet accessible (without a shopping fiasco a la LotusFlow3r, Crystal Ball...) just might work in his favour.

(I've always said if you want a great simple website that does no more than it's supposed to, just go to google.com)

I wouldn't start going apesh*t just yet, but in saying that - it's a pretty good start to 2013. nod

As for Andy Al... nevermind.

I dislike Flash just as much as any other non-Windows guy, but I don't see it's general usage having diminished over the last couple of years. People aren't necessarily making entire sites with it anymore, but the videos and ads rely on it almost exclusively.

According to Dr Funkenberry's facebook comment, they've listened to an album, though Prince has said he no longer releases albums, instead he is recording jams and will sell them individually on the website?

DR. FUNKENBERRY'S CELEBRITY NEWS FAN PAGE

I think new "tracks" were played. In Billboard's interview with PRINCE, he states he longer makes albums but jams n will release them for a price the fans agree on. More from the interview when we have the full copy/story....

^ Prince is no more releasing albums.. really???

that's not fair. Then there will be no more hope to get the albums, remastered.

Album releases is "history" now.. ?

(even it has to be said, the Prince albums post Warner haven't been that good)...

Suggestion in the line of thinking:

Mmmmh so maybe prince.org can participate in a www.kickstarter.com fundraising by Prince and buy an album with Fora...

That would be the sensation of the year and never been done on this scale.

That's today.

Last year the internet was dead and now look what's happening. So long as we keep getting music I don't give a shit about wether or not I have a physical CD. When I get a CD I just do a lossless rip and it goes in the loft. Same with DVD/Blu-Ray etc.

Wow @ that guitar playing in the Montreux clip.

And "Screw Driver" is a good rocker.

Cool site name. With 2013 embedded, does that mean its existence will be limited to one year? I'm not complaining, but still longing for Prince to park himself in a permanent webspace.

Screw Driver is only okay to me but the Montreux clip.......FIRE!!! love

I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Kickstarter for Prince Album Suggestion

I love this idea!

Than after a lot of bickering and fighting his fans choose a selection of what he gave us. We'll make an album of it, release it and put the profit in a fund.

For example a fund that supports projects for free and save education for girls around the world.

I think it's a good idea! And it hasn't been done before, so there will be media attention. For both Prince his music as for the fund for educating girls.

Very good idea. Somebody pitch it to Prince?

Thanks for the like and thinking. However the 'we sell for profit can be an issue'.
Some nuance because else Prince won't see the benefit. The kickstarter is for us to fill and he receives the money. He opens a reuqest for say $2.000.000 within a timeframe.

Everybody pitches in and receives something depending on the amount pitched.

($15 is album but $50 is cd+dvd, $100 is cd+dvd+written notes copy....$5000 is listening party included)...

He remains owner (ofcourse)

Possible profit is for him to decide when overbooked. I feel this is important because money and controle often seems to be the issue.

He can contact/call/mail me for a pitch wink

only ads rely on flash nowadays - videos can all be embedded via html5 and mostly have a fallback solution to flash (if necessarry) ..
