what would Prince think???

I wonder what Prince would think...if he read the majority of posts on this website.

He has sold millions of records, started his own label, built a lucrative recording studio and maintained his artistry.

And for the past three years he has...
* Bucked the recording industry by providing us with an enormous amount of unreleased material at a limited cost.
* Allowed us exclusive access to his concerts and soundchecks with preference over scalpers, industry execs and celebrities.
* Invited us into his home (Paisley Park) for hours upon hours of incredible live performances, workshops, listening sessions, discussion groups, etc.
name one other musician of his stature that has come
close to even one of these.

Meanwhile, you complain about shipping, delays and "how come I didn't get more CDs"...WAAHHH!

If I were Prince...and I still cursed...I would say F you all. I don't need the headache.

For my sake...and for those of us who truly appreciate the exclusive PRIVELEGES he has given us...I hope he does not.

Who the fuck cares what Prince thinks? If people aren't happy with the product they have the right to express their disappointment. I think some people took it too far, but hey...

But the biggest mistake with this thread is that it's not a privilege if you have to pay $100 for it my friend (and $250 for the Celebration and $150 for concert tickets).

any major artist who takes people's everyday criticism too seriously probably isn't going to last very long

and for all your bitching he is making out very, very well

Must agree with you hales, and i wouldn't blame him.

If he never recorded another record or done another gig, who would miss out? thats right we all would, but he wouldn't, he's made his money and he could sing to himself.
so could i but i'm not as good at it!

brilliant response love machine...

"who the f cares what Prince thinks"???

and pick up a dictionary...

"privilege - a special right or power conferred on or possessed by one or more individuals" that is irregardless of the paltry sum you had to pay for it...

for example a drivers license is a privilege...not an entitlement.

people are treating the NPGMC like something they are entitled to.

I however, feel "privileged - enjoying a special right or immunity" to be in the club

I would hope Prince would dismiss the posts full of negativity and unfair complaining, and instead focus on the many posts expressing love and respect for him & his music, and gratitude for what was experienced by people because of the music, the Celebrations, the Club, the parties, etc...

Not to say the negativity and nastiness wouldn't ever get to him at times..he's human so I'm sure it sometimes does. But I hope he tempers it quickly by remembering and focusing his energy on all those people that appreciate and support him. I know there are a lot of us that do...

But alas by your definition it no longer is a privilege when ANYONE with a $100 is able to procure the privilege to pay an additional $250 for the celebration or $150 for a show.

Later tonight I have the express privilege of seeing a movie. Because I have $8 the movie theater is granting me the right and power to see the movie.

Don't think for a minute that Prince or any of his employees have NOT checked out this site and not only read the comments, but traced which members are making the comments, too.

As far as what he thinks...I'm sure Prince came to conclusions a LONG time ago about as he says, his "so-called fans". NPGMC was not about lovingly showering his beloved fans with treasures and love, it was a business.

Some fans seem to confuse this business with a deeper relation to Prince.

Strange, but true.

The amount of people who joined the NPGMC is probabbly small enough that employees could keep track of what NPGMC members are posting malicious comments on the Org. But considering in December they had to email us all to ask us if we recieved our set, because they themselves had no idea, it makes you wonder how organized they are.

Those who filed formal complaints already included their full name and mailing address in the letter anyhow, so there was nothing to hide.

I don't think for one minute that Prince or any of his staff come to the org and read any of this. Unless the moderators at the site give out any information, how is it possible for thme to know I am a member that makes negative comments? Even if I believed that they did, it would not prevent me from being honest and I would like to think that they are wise enough to know that everyone is different and does not think everything Prince does is the greatest thing since sliced bread. Since the NPGMC is indeed a business, people have every right to complain when they feel they have been done wrong.
