2002 releases ?

Waiting 4 a NPGMC Year 3, eye'm tryin' 2 figure out the 2002 releases, so here r some questions, please help me if u can:

- Where were the 5 downloads referred as "C-note" ?

- Since eye still didn't receive ONA Live: was the Live EP which was sent 2 radios trax from ONA Live, or songs from another concert ?

- Eye've read on the Internet about a 2nd, 13mn long "Copenhagen" File. Does it xist, how 2 get it ?

- Can some1 hear any guitar on Common's "Star 69" ? Eye can't & am beginnin' 2 wonder if P is really playin' on the track or if it's just a big joke between him & Common.

- R there 1 or 2 versions of DOW Live ?

Were there any other release apart from ONA, ONA Live, Xpectation, C-Note, DOW, Star 69, & the radio promo EP ?

Thanx 4 ur help...

- Where were the 5 downloads referred as "C-note" ?

They were on links sent to some members by email in early January 2003. The files were all mp3s encoded at 128kbps, but have all now been taken down. They were:

Copenhagen (9,582 kb) 10:07 10/25/02 Copenhagen soundcheck
Nagoya (8,330 kb) 8:52 11/29/02 Nagoya soundcheck
Osaka (5,524 kb) 5:53 11/28/02 Osaka soundcheck
Tokyo (4,832 kb) 5:09 11/18/02 Tokyo soundcheck
Empty Room (3,770 kb) 4:01 10/25/02 Copenhagen soundcheck

- Since eye still didn't receive ONA Live: was the Live EP which was sent 2 radios trax from ONA Live, or songs from another concert ?

Apart from Xenophobia, they were all from the same show, namely Indianapolis. On the box set, Xenophobia is from a different venue, although through the magic of editing, the part where Prince speaks to members from the audience IS from Indianapolis, and as on the EP.

- Eye've read on the Internet about a 2nd, 13mn long "Copenhagen" File. Does it xist, how 2 get it ?

It does exist. An email link was sent to an extremely limited number of (Danish?) members in November 2002. It is the same recording as the shorter Copenhagen file, but has an additional 3.5 minutes at the beginning of the track. So while the 'common' file fades in 3.5 minutes into the track, the longer files starts right from the beginning. The longer files is an mp3 encoded at 96kbps. You may hear a rumour, or even see the file encoded at 256kbps, but this is a fake.

Copenhagen (9,582 kb) 13:38 10/25/02 Copenhagen soundcheck

- Can some1 hear any guitar on Common's "Star 69" ? Eye can't & am beginnin' 2 wonder if P is really playin' on the track or if it's just a big joke between him & Common.

I think it's just the 80'sish part at the end of the track that is Prince. I don't know of he actually plays on the full song.

- R there 1 or 2 versions of DOW Live ?

There are 2 versions, both based on the same live recording on 6/18/02 in Montreal. One was on the 1 track version of the Days Of Wild CD that was given away at the Celebration. You can sometimes still find these on Ebay, but they are pricey. This version is 11:04, and features Prince singing lines from 'Soul Man', but lacks the 'Hold on to your wigs' sample. The second version, called the 'Concert Mix', is from the more common 3 track version sold on the website, and clocks in at 10:47. This lacks the 'Soul Man' lines, but does have the 'hold on to your wigs' sample.

- Were there any other release apart from ONA, ONA Live, Xpectation, C-Note, DOW, Star 69, & the radio promo EP ?

Yes. Throughout the year, an mp3 of 'Silicon' (also from December 2001) was available.

In July 2001 an mp3 of '1+1+1 is 3' live from the Celebration was made available in both 128kbps, and 256kbps versions. This was recorded on 6/26/02 at Paisley Park, and is 5:01 in length. The 256kbps file is 9,428 kb.

In late 2002, 94 East's new Cd was released, which featured updated versions of '10:15' and 'Fortune Teller', both of which Prince played guitar on (in 1977!). The recordings were updated, with Princes guitar the only original part remaining. Prince had nothing to do with the new release, and is actually reported to be against it, but he does play on the songs, and they've never been released before, so I suppose they do count. Oh, and the snappy name for the CD is :

"94 East featuring 10:15 & Fortune Teller Remix with Prince on guitar".

Thanx 4 ur help...

No problem.

well, prince does not play guitar on this track, BUT he brought the drum machine to Commons studio (listen to the albums 1999, ATWIAD, Parade and Sign o T Times and you will know what im talking about) you can hear the beats in the end of the song.
