Listen, I'm not to sure that Prince is going to have a celebration this year...do you think that he would keep the same format like last year?

Prince/NPGMC is aware of all hotels that are being booked and sold out. Hotels are aware that there is going to be "something" happening for the month of June because they were told to HOLD rooms for those dates (that are on the calender). I do not think Prince/NPGMC would allow for all of this to go on knowing there was NOT going to be a celebration. Does not make sense for them to keep the hotels hanging like this, the celebration does benifit the city of Mpls. There WILL be a celebration ...Now get up and start saving and planning

Prince puts the majority of his musical guests and associates up at one of the inns in Chanhassen. I really don't think that he would want to have a negative relationship with this inn by holding rooms and giving false information to the hotel; and making MANY reservations for a Celebration if there wasn't one. I think the inn would be very unhappy and not offer Prince the opportunity to do business at discount rates in the future if he allowed rooms to be booked and canceled at the last minute. June is a month where the hotels/inns are extremely busy and they surely would not want to lose income. I was given insider information and they were told that the event would be from June 19-26. Those are the tenative dates, and I do believe there will be a Celly this year.

Agree with you on this one..I was told the same by Chanhassen Inn. They are giving us great rates. Hotels usually boost the rates when certain events are going on because they know people NEED rooms. But as one lady mentioned to me that Prince has been very good to them. I do not think he would play with his city like that.

Maybe Prince has decided to drop the NPGMC this year & focus on Celebration 2003. Use The Celebration as a vehicle to sell new music. It could be used as a giant weeklong launch party for a new cd. Seems a waste to put all that effort into The Celebration & have so little effect beyond a small circle of people.

Maybe they should open up Club memebership only the years he will be touring...Just throw us some downloads let us have our soundchecks and afterparties . I think just this alone is worth $100 (my opinion) and this way the states he will not be touring peeps know NOT to join.
