Why there is no NPGMC 2003 Theory:
It started with the complaints to the BBB. Tired & frustrated by stonewalling from the NPGMC some NPGMC members took their complaints to the BBB. The BBB contacted the NPGMC who responded by releasing numerous downloads at the end of NPGMC Year 2 hoping to squash all complaints & satisfy all the parties. The people who contacted the BBB & the rest of the NPGMC members were happy - there would have been no downloads if they hadn't acted. Everyone should be happy. So where is NPGMC Year 3? Perhaps Prince and/or the management people for the NPGMC weren't too happy. The members want to dictate what is released? Have we gotten rid of WB only to have the NPGMC members take their place? Who's in charge here? Maybe its time to kill this little experiment before it blows up completely. Which won't be too hard because Prince has lost interest in the club. And then the NPGMC withers & dies.

The NPGMC was an Xperiment. It didn't work well. Let it go... If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

The whole premise of "the club" was just to collect everyone's money up front. I don't see why some people are so eager to join 2003. Even if the club did reopen it would likely be months before any new music arrives anyhow. Save your money till its actually released. If its not your cup of tea when it comes out, you wont have already paid for it in advance with no refund.

IMO if the club is to go ahead for year 3 then it should be at a nominal cost($10?) and then you could pay for whatever you want to download or purchase exclusivly. This way a gig for each tour could be made available for download and you would only pay for the ones you want...cos I shure as hell wouldn't want a D & P or Act II gig!
Also if other outakes/vault material were made available you could pay per song. This facility would also be even better if there was say a 30 seconds to a minute preview at low quality available. Now, here's hoping! -----------------------------------------------

Right! Forget the club. Except for The Celebration. Thats a good idea. More work should be done to take advantage of The Celebration. This is a tool he should be using to promote himself instead of it being a private party for fans. Think more Sundance and less Woodstock.

I think what Prince offered the fans in 2002 was more than we should have asked for. Anyone that didnot get their money's worth maybe that was their fault.
Maybe Prince is just taking some time off and didn't feel like there was going to be enought material for this year to make a club.or maybe not. Maybe the JWs told him to stop it, who knows? Just enjoy the music and wait and see.

So now WE (happy people) have to go without this year. THANK YOU NAYSAYERS FISH I feel you on this. A big ironic thanks to all those who complain thinking they were smarter than the rest and felt they were due something from Princes's camp. We were offered a perspective and if the club is no more the same peeps will complain even more (no good seats etc...). Shame on you, you should have joined the WB club instead... I love this mentality. It's the people who spoke up that ruined your precious club. Give me a fucking break, If that's indeed all it took, then they shouldn't be in business anyhow as far as I'm concerned.
Prince does what Prince wants. That's all.

the club doesn't work in alot of respects.Every download is available for free on P2P sites anyway.
It's not like he's going on a World tour either this year, so the soundchecks and preffered seating aren't going to be an option to use as a selling point either. Prince should either let the club die or at least give it a complete overhaul with more options and choice for members.(hopefully this is in the works) Downloads and albums of your choosing would go along way to pleasing members and people thinking of joining.

I spoke up, but ALWAYS refrained from "talking shit" or being rude, especailly in my (largely ignored) correspondence with the club. My voice spoke only for myself, and I KNOW that I did not convince Prince to discontinue his club. If I have that much power, let me know and I'll get on him to release some cool stuf!

or jackin' up the price...

Some didn't. Still, hardly the "free the music" explosion I thought Prince was angling towards. I did NOT shut down the club.

So now WE (happy people) have to go without this year. THANK YOU NAYSAYERS FISH So to be a NPGMC member means giving up the right to complain? I don't think so. Prince & Co. started a business & with any business there are going to be complaints. He couldn't stand the heat so he split the kitchen. Hopefully he will have learned a few lessons & will regroup. After all he is a reasonable guy - right?
