maybe he's just having a break or is on a sweat vacation.with his wife.
it was a very busy year 2002.touring all the world(almost).

he's getting older 2(yes he's human).he's thinking .i gave the best off me 4 all my fans.so why don't u give me some break or some lovelife with my beautifull wife.after all this years .i deserve it just a little.because i still got a lot off work 2 do.because i'm gonna get my place back and i'm gonna change music back 2 music again.and the best is still 2 come.and while i'm o a break i'll give u something 2 keep u busy(xpectations)while the npgmc is a (empty room).

I tend to agree but I hope I'm wrong.

1). Prince tours with members soundchecks, aftershows etc.
2). The bit in the ONa live tourbook which goes something like "Why do we have to go our seperate ways - Only time will tell"

I hope he is just taking a break.
and not because he thinks he has to seperate himself from the fans because we're all not JWs.

It's no different than the slow songs from ONA shortly before year 2.

Prince literally LIVES for making music. It is what defines him as a person. I would be surprised if many other musicians write and record anywhere near the volume Prince does (at times according to various sources/interviews etc, he used to record a song a day on average!)

I believe he probably is taking a very well earned break. There's plenty of reasons for this including the rumour that Mani might be pregnant. If she is then Prince is going to want to spend time with her, especially after being away on tour for so long. Also, having lost one child with Mayte, he is going to want to do everything he as a man can do to help his wife.

Having said that I, as a greedy fan, hope he is at least writing new material for a killer follow up to The Rainbow Children
