Let me rephrase...what good does that do the average Lotusflow3r member, who doesn't know shit about how websites are built?

please talk to the hand who would want to download any of that shit now anyway?

either you were interested enough in them to grab them when the site was
still active, or you didn't care one bit and don't do so now.

i mean, why would anyone want to visit that orb now and start downloading
a 7th generation vhs copy of "the sacrifice of victor" or a grainy choked
up version of the "paisley park" video? it was an atrocity to have to sit
through them once, when the site was still new and somewhat gimmicky, but
it's a whole other thing to download that shit and sit through it again.

Wow - overthink much? lol

I wasn't implying that I wanted to do any of that. I just asked what good knowing that the xml was still there would do the average person.

Thanks, that's good info. It tells some how they can still access features they paid for.

And it might even be a sign that the site isn't dead for good.

Again, thanks.

Just a quick observation here, but a good sign that this is intentional is the fact that the music fades out as the orb disappears.

Question 4 all:

How many times have U clicked the orb?

This is like classic Prince suspense...

Oh for crying out loud! It's classic Prince alright but suspense it ain't! disbelief

Suspense would have been putting something up days or even weeks ago, that let y'all KNOW that year 2 was about to begin and something, anything NEW for the money you were about to be charged was on the way! sigh
I knew from the start that I loved you with all my heart.

I hear that, and it looks it doesn't matter anyway with the news that there will be no 2nd year.

The fact that the orb is still here means something's coming up.

I'm not saying it'll necessarly be something great, but if the site had been closed, even if automatic renewal'd been done by mistake, there wouldn't be anything left but a black page.

Now the lack of communication and getting money from people who asked their membership canceled is a major tactical mistake.

There'd better be 10 albums of unreleased material available when the site gets back or i'm afraid Prince had definitely lost any future consumer for any future website.
[Edited 3/25/10 8:43am]

I wish I could be as optimistic about what's coming, but I really doubt anything will happen. No biggie for me. I paid for a year and got a year (though if what I got was worth the money is debatable). However, not everyone joined on day 1, and anyone who only got 6 or 9 months of site access got screwed more than the rest of us.

How did the people who only got 6 or 9 months get screwed? Seriously. All they had to do was visit this forum to find a lot of people who thought membership wasn't worth the price. If they disregarded all that and bit anyway... shrug

The MF could have had the courtesy of letting us know that he was going to do that. That's what REAL businesses do.

Wasn't it originally stated in the t&C's that it was an auto-renew subsciption ?
If that is the case - you WERE notified - when you joined.

Well, my point was simply that they paid for a year of access, meaning they should have been able to log in to the site for 365 days, only to find no new content. We all know that most of us who signed up on day one still feel like we got screwed, but I'm beating a dead horse stating the obvious here.

it's true tho. better to not have the site there at all anymore
than have it be there and keep thinking "perhaps some day soon,
there may be something new on there".

now that it's gone we can count our losses and move on.

True. Let's face it. Who here really went there anyway, once we'd seen everything we needed to see and hear? Plus the site was a disease for Prince, nothing but complaints. What's on the net everywhere buffers instantly and my guess is Prince will start popping up all over the place, like he has been in recent months.

I'm wondering about the people who joined lotusflow3r.com late spring and summer last year... they paid but didn't get a full year 2 appreciate the site, I wonder if they can get credit card refunds. This is tragic that the site is now gone (or possibly being re-vamped); once again, Prince has no official site.
