it is a complete piece of trash.
you could pay someone to make you an EXACT replica for under a grand, why pay $1500 for a crap copy ? I know someone who bought the white one, it has started fading to an off-white colour, almost yellow in patches. total garbage it looks like a prince guitar (almost), but it sure doesnt sound anything like one or play anything like one. but i guess one man's trash is another man's treasure... Yes, I'm thrilled with it. I got it as a Christmas present from my wonderful brother. It looks gorgeous and plays even better. Of course, you can't get it to sound exactly like Prince's. That's what 25 years of playing, Takumi and lots of expensive other gear will do for you. But in the realm of guitars, it feels great to play, and sounds very crisp and precise. I love the blue color and it's holding up very well. Maybe the person whose guitar is fading and sounds like shit didn't take very good care of it. I would recommend it to anyone who's considering buying one. Just keep it in a soft case and buy a cloth to shine it with.

And a REAL cloud guitar of course... Neversin. So what IS the difference between the guitar cluitar mr. Prince uses on stage and the one we can buy? What technical details are different? udo Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.

daysofwild said: The original is made from aged maple and has EMG pickups, and custom hardware. Not sure what the retail cloud is made of, but it reportedly has Duncan pickups, which you could change. Beyond that, there are many factors in Prince's sound... effects/outboard gear in the signal chain, strings, amp -- and his playing, of course!
Yeah, OK, but I was asking about the guitar itself. So we have different wood, pickups (which can be changed) and what custom hardware in the guitar itself? udo (I only play the cd's and stuff) Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... I've been playing guitar for several years. I've played some real pieces of crud. I got one of the "Blue Angel" Clouds. It really is a pretty good guitar, if somewhat overpriced. But you have to pay a premium for the exclusivity. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

That blue NPGMC retail guitar is not a "Blue Angel"... The "Blue Angel" was a beautiful pastel blue colored guitar (with century old wood, a couple of layers airplane paint, real expensive (gold) and very durable custom made hardware and pickups (no EMG pickups on the original) and Prince used DR strings on this particular guitar (don't know if he still uses those)... A real strong guitar with a real strong sound which you can buy for approx. $25.000 (that's the price of a cloud guitar with the "Prince" finish) and that's the real deal cloud prince uses on stage... The NPGMC thing is a crappy "clone" of the "Electric Blue" version he's used since 1993... (The white one was his first cloud and the electric blue one was his last, that's why they sell these two) The NPGMC guitars are like 15th generation copies of the original... Neversin.
