Has anyone contacted the Better Business Bureau or their credit card company to dispute the charge of $77.00 for lack of services rendered or misleading product?

well, actually, nothing that was expressly offered was not delivered, and whether or not it was misleading i'm sure could be argued in a court of law.

personally, i think the site was a scam, and whether it was "legal" or not, i think it was at LEAST unethical. i'm through giving money to prince's online ventures unless i know up front EXACTLY what i'm getting. no more of this "no xpectations/don't u like surprises?" crap.

You can make a complaint to the BBB on grounds that you feel the service does not live up to your expectations. Plain and simple. The problem is that Lotusflow3r is not registered with the BBB in any way, shape or form.

i hope he will offer up something good before the year is over for the folks that paid!

I wonder why nobody suspected any of this when he offered up a date in January for the launching of the website, only to post a message about the 'real' launch date being in March (was it?) and claiming that it wasn't ever meant to be launched so early on in the first place


Now we're only 6 months in to the launch of lotusflow3r, and the videos and additional albums (like Jazz albums) were indeed mentioned, but not promised for the launch of the website. nor did he specify an actual date.

I remember reading about the fact that Prince had recorded every live performance he's ever done on video, and that these would be available on lotusflow3r, but he never stated when or how.


I don't know if the website is a 'scam' because I don't know what his future plans for it are, but if history has a way of repeating itself, we're all fucked.

Prince, is, if anything, a total and complete douche-bag when it comes to business dealings with his clients (that's us, the fans). Many fans justify the lackluster performance of his websites by the fact they get choice seats to his concerts (which to me haven't been all that stellar since his early 90s) really. But the fact of the matter is, when you're charging people for something, you should be honest and upfront. Else, you might as well be selling snake oil.


He's done everything in his power to ensure people just obtain his material illegally. He doesn't offer any of his new material in abundance on iTunes. He doesn't offer any material outside of the lotusflow3r bundle on lotusflow3r.com, and he doesn't even make it intuitive and easy to get into and browse his website.
In short, he's almost begging folks to just obtain the material illegally (which is quite easy to do as we all know), instead of supporting him.

NIN, Bowie, Annie Difranco--all of these acts make it very easy to obtain their music. It should never be more convenient to download your music illegally than through a legal route--and most folks I know would rather do it legally if the options available weren't so cumbersome.


I give it another 6 months. Prince could always surprise us--he has a history of it. But, after all this time, you'd think that he would have learned from his past mistakes and improved his current website offering. Instead, we got something exceedingly shitty. It makes me wonder if the next 6 months will offer up more of the same shit.

Even though I'm not thrilled with where this site is, the truth is anything can happen anyday now. We have 6 months left so lets see what happens. Bitching and moaning wont make the songs, albums and videos come any faster or else we'd have a truckload already.

why is anyone even talking about lotusflow3r.com as if there's anything left to expect? prince's actions have made it clear. the site is dead. we got played. move along, nothing more to see.

Amazing. I am a real sucker, but I didn't buy 21 nights, and I didn't buy this. It's like he has never seen another web site. These places offer huge archives of material if you subscribe. Some of them are expensive, but they give you what you pay for!

I would be pissed of I spent $77 on that shit.

I don't think it's actually a scam. I think it's shortsightedness. He probably forgot he even has a website.

So from what I'm reading nobody has taken any formal action against the website/Prince. Some even say it gave them what it promised but they just hoped for more than what they got. Okay.

I wouldn't actually take it to the stage of formal action though since I'm English and as such the site only represents an expensive purchase not a complete and utter rip off.
