Shouldn't you feel ashamed? Obviously, this is not directed at everyone, just those who have complained and threaten to sue and not join the club next year. My point is this...the end of the year for the club is in Feb. not 12/31/0?. So, for those who complained about the amount of music recieved for their money were being very selfish. And to say that you were not getting any club privileges makes me think you have not gone thru a full week at a Celebration nor a concert, or you have become very spoiled by Prince and the NPGMC. For example, my wife and I went to the show here in Dallas. I got my old college roommate to come also. When he arrived, we had already sat thru a sound check, we were sitting front row and we paid the same for our ticket as he did, 40 rows back! That's sounds like a huge privilege. As a fan I think it was very sorry those who complained about what they were given knowing that unlike the past year Prince had already asked our opinion about going on a world tour and that was where his energy was. Perfect example would be now...who's surprised to get the Xpectation album and live Empty Room track? Like Prince says..."It ain't over." [This message was edited Sun Jan 5 10:54:11 PST 2003 by merce29] The 2002 NPGMC year ended Dec 31, 2002 as stated on the web site. Curiously members usernames and passwords were still left active in Jan to allow for some downloads of additional music. [This message was edited Sun Jan 5 11:10:31 PST 2003 by NPGMCsucks]

i too was under the impression that the club didn't end til february...i was told it wasn't by people on this board..so i am not sure even still when it ends...
even if it ended in december..prince ain't never been on time a day in his life...so maybe this is the 'xenophobia..coming soon to a monitor near you' that was mentioned at the npgmc site a couple months ago... technically it's not the 'xenophobia' album..but practically..so..maybe it was planned all along and is just showing up late... at any rate, i hope all the dissatisfied people will refrain from joining the club this year...obviously prince won't be doing anything to make you happy again this year..so save your money...(and my nerves.. )

[This message was edited Sun Jan 5 10:54:11 PST 2003 by merce29] I AGREE 1000% PERCENT!! I was very thrilled to see him twice this year and have FIRST ROW :OMG: I am not at all ashamed because I never felt ripped off by Prince and doubt that this year WHEN I JOIN AND ATTEND THE CELEBRATION will feel ripped either - trust me folks when I tell you - I work in the music industry and have met many many really famous musicians and we are so very fortunate that Prince even cares at all about us - most musicians don't give a rat's about fans Prince - I u!! WHO ME?

Well, eye for one, wasnt one that threatened to sue, but did complain, at the output the npgmc produced, mainly in the fact that they had ignorant people who had no clue, and that stems from their "boss"
but eye am happy with the music... overall thats what really counts, is the music...

and understand what terms are at hand when dealing with Prince now, this is my first "unclear" experience with the man... now if eye decide to stick with his musical path, eye have no excuse to complain, for eye know now..

I think after 2 years of NPGMC people should know wether to join for 2003 or not. Hopefully those who don't like the club will not join again. Peace and Love!

[This message was edited Sun Jan 5 10:54:11 PST 2003 by merce29] Well, I was actually told in an e-mail from MPGMC that the Club year officially ended a the end of December 2002! So, that's why some were really complaining because it seemed like (and it probably was) the end of getting any more music!

Yes. I am ashamed. I'm ashamed that I'm not mindlessly lapping-up everything the club has to offer without feeling dissapointed.
What's wrong with me? Why can't I appreciate a box set that was sent out to members a week before it was made available via the usual outlets!? Why can't I overlook the fact that the box, when it arrived, was far below retail condition (i.e. a big rip in the box). Also, why can't I appreciate the possibility that the NPGMC might be too busy to give us a proper explanation why the club seems to be no more? And of course, I should be eternally grateful for the Xpectation album. Yes, I am ashamed and I promise to try to look upon the NPGMC as a genuine attempt by Prince to give something back to all the people who have followed his career through all the good and bad times. And the next time I see him live I'll try not to scoff when he goes on about how important we (the fans) are to him. Oh, and I'll try not to buy another bootleg ever again, cuz I know that Prince doesn't like them. Am I forgiven?

[This message was edited Sun Jan 5 10:54:11 PST 2003 by merce29] As went around, the end was in december. Why else would he release Xpectation at january 1st? Most of the complaints about the CD thing were valid in some way or another. If you got to see a show or more that part was OK. The downloads are, IMNSHO, a kind of compensation for a real CD (instead of burned MP3's). I'm stil happy with Xpectation, though. I hope 2003 will show a more communicative NPGMC (clear communication, that is). udo Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.
