aditional delivery cost of 22 Euro in germany for the box hi evrybody,
just got the box set (love it), but FED EX wouldn´t give it to me, unless i paid 22 Euro (=22 $) to FED EX for Costums, Tax and a service Charge for FED EX itself. WHAT IS THAT ALL ABOUT? Did anybody had the same problem? any information on that? hallo, ich habe gerade die box set erhalten, aber FED EX wollte für zoll, steuer, und bearbeitungsgebühr 22 Euro haben. was soll das? hatte jemand das gleiche problem? irgendwelche infos? thanx

Moderator | What would that be in US dollars?
(like it matters, you shouldn't have to pay anything extra, but I was just curious) [This message was edited Thu Dec 19 6:26:35 PST 2002 by yamomma] All Rights Reserved. |

It is just bad luck for you.
At customs the check random shipments and charge them with taxes etc. It happens in the Netherlands too. Most people did not have to pay anything, but a few were charged with additional VAT etc.

Check http://www.xe.com/ucc for more detailed conversions. udo Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... My idea:
If you don't have to pay taxes at the door, just don't pay and say you sent it back (don't actually send it of course) so you don't owe taxes. Else (more legal) you could ask a statement of the value from gage.com/NPGMC to prove that you won't have to pay the ridiculous tax. (why pay tax to our local government when the goods come from elsewhere? what about free flow of goods, free trade? medieval! evil!) udo Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.

thank u people,
that helped a little bit. strange thing is, that there was an invoice inside the FED EX package saying, that the box has no retail value. how can the costums office charge for something, that has no value? but it will not ruin my good mood. love to listen to it no matter what...
