Fresh Take on the LotusFlow3r

Prince can't walk and chew gum at the same time in old age. It's all or nothing. IMO - Either another world opens with the jazz stuff he is working on or other stuff he worked on.. or zero..its a bust.

I do believe we may get more music. It will take some patience. I still also believe he is working and thinking big in terms or another album. And with the generation of consumption! Most fans constantly need = more more more. Would a couple downloads of some new tracks really fix that appetite? Vs. a complete album or a couple albums. In other words, even 3 albums couldn't appease the appetite for long, so what the hell good would 3-4 mp3s do? But if he sprung a couple albums on us in a few months would it all be worth it? I would say so.

If you think about the cool stuff. We got three albums and the Bria cd ain't that bad. We got an exclusive shirt! that doesn't fit me. But my gf thinks its a soft shirt and wears it at night.

If we get nothing more, the question lingers!! Was $77 worth the Morning After??? As much as I would say I do like the song. I believe Prince is thinking big and time will tell. It would be cool if we had some indication but Prince was never one to let fans know about future plans and if he is I hope he doesn't let us know because those plans always blow up.

But my bet is something more will happen and another 'world' will open before the site is done.

Regardless of whats going to happen. I've actually enjoyed the last couple albums more than ever. Musicology, Planet Earth, LotusFlow3r, MPLSound I've been listening to. As an older fan I've always taken time to judge the work. Still not into 3121 but I know not to give up and maybe that album will hit me. I do also believe after more and more listens. I love the Bria cd, her voice is sweet and the songs are genuine.

Keep the faith..

there's no "fresh take" for me where the site is concerned, not unless they add some worthwhile content before the "year subscription" is up.

as for the album, i don't feel let down by it at all. it's not one of my favorites of his by a long shot, but i've been entertained by it. i think it's a vast improvement on 'planet earth', and as a whole, with the art and the three CDs and the spectrum of sounds stretching across the whole thing, i think it's a lot more ambitious than any studio release he's done in a long time.

i'm sure i'll keep rediscovering bits and pieces of this album over the years, and hopefully i'll forget all about that stinkin' web site. lol

on a more positive note-I've got my t shirt on-and I've had a few comments-all great too-and it is superb material and fit

i wasn't gonna wear it-but it's actually too nice not to-and though the decal is crappy up close -it does look very cool a small distance away

so-i am actually alot more happy with them than i was

edit-i've removed the negative comments here too.....

No fresh take here! We have had nothing new in June and it looks like we are blanking for July.(an interview in German doesn't count)
I would have never imagined an artist, any artist, treating their hard core fans like this.

I've got the feeling after seeing the Montrueax show that Prince has something else coming with Lotusflow3r. People don't have paitence anymore. Prince does what he wants to do when he wants to do it. I feel something jazzy coming from him. smile

I agree, I hope the website fiasco doesn't ruin my enjoyment of a good album in years to come.

if you got a year subscription to a magazine and you got maybe 1 or 2 issues for the first 11 months and then you got the other 10 or 11 issues all on the same day at the end of your subscription period, would you be happy with that? lol

But that hasn't happened yet. You are talking 11, when we haven't even seen half that much yet...

And, no I wouldn't.

it hasn't been 11 months, but just think of all the things they could have done in the past few months, when really they did next to nothing and it took weeks and weeks and weeks of complaining from fans just to get the t-shirts we were promised. we know what prince's previous sites were capable of. even the free 3121.com had regularly updated content. i would check that site every day because often there was something to see. now i'm paying for a site and it's a virtual ghost town. the few paltry updates posted on there get posted on here as well, sometimes even BEFORE it's posted on LF.com, and what news has been posted on his site has been really really sporadic, as opposed to a free site like, oh...say...THE .ORG. lol

if you want to keep hope alive, that's commendable, but don't pretend like there's no reason some people might be a little less than plussed with what we've gotten so far.

Hey, I think that actually happened to me way back in the '80's with "Uptown!"

In the end, there IS more to life than Prince and the LF site. IMO, some people need to stop putting so much stock in what they thought it could be, hoped and wished for, etc. Again, the initial point was that there is plenty of time left and we aren't half way there yet people are crying "foul". I may not know Bo, but I do know math...

again, if you think it's a great deal, then i think that's great. for YOU. others don't agree, and our opinions are just that valid. and believe me, i DO have other things to occupy my mind than when i'm gonna get more goodies from prince's web site.

I think you are misunderstanding me. No offense was meant. And I'm not claiming this has been a great deal (yet). I'm merely stating that (IMO) people are jumping to conclusions too quickly.

Again... the ONLY point I was making (initially) is that it hasn't even been 1/2 a year yet, much less than the entire subscription time, and so many folks are claiming to be cheated. Therefore the "opinions" about time are NOT valid...
