is that what u think??? that a sum of prince's "Famunity" isnt happy, so prince decided to dish the club? if thats the reason, ure idol doesnt have a backbone and cant take the heat, in fact, if the world was to think like that. big corp. wouldn exist..

With all the complaining Prince does both with the record companies and "illegal" websites, it would be ironic if he shut down the NPGMC because of whining.

I think all that means is that they are not ready (YET) with the 2003 NPGMC detaisl. You know how they are and how they work. It would be foolish for Prince to end his club.

Last June after the Celebration I e-mailed NPGMC & asked if the DOW CD single was going to be for sale on the site. They responded - there r no plans for a DOW single.
Yet two months later there was the DOW single.
NPGMC will not give you one speck of info that they don't want to give out.
If they responded to your e-mail with "thank-you we will keep your suggestions in mind" that would be acknowledging that the NPGMC is having a Year 3. Maybe they don't want to do that since their responses often end up posted on prince.org. Prince likes a build-up with a surprise at the end.
I think you are jumping the gun on this.

The Aladdin ending was clear that Prince digs the NPGMC and did not look like a guy who wanted his club to end!

after all these years, Prince has finally got what he wants and that is total control of his music, which means staying away from record company deals. So of course his only way of reaching out 2 the fans and getting his music out 2 us, is of course his website.
so there is no way that he is going 2 abanden the site, cause this is how he wants 2 sell his music and promote himself 2 the world, so all u people stressing out over another stupid enail from the club, will get over it when they hook up 2 the address 1 day 2 find that they r promoting year 3 which eye believe based on the money Prince made from this year should be fantastic.
so girls and boys, get over it and be patient, we have everything they promised us 4 year 2, so there is no need 4 them until next year.

After the vague promises in Year 2, they are going to need details of what benefits you will get if you join in Year 3. Considering that Prince will certainly not tour until late Spring or Summer at the [i]earliest[/], they can't entice people to join with the soundcheck/afterparty/pre-sale benefit like they did this year. They will need concrete details regarding what music we will receive.

At this point, Prince has nothing "in the can" as he likes to say. He may or may not have Xenophobia ready. He may have an idea for a Crystal Ball II CD. Who konws? Certainly not Prince.

I bet he will be spending some time in the next month either recording new music or mixing a new Vault release. Once he figures out what he has... and whether or not he wants to release it on a major label like TRC and ONA Live, he will decide whether having a Year 3 makes sense or not.

Could it be possible that someone has too much time on their hands and gets a kick out of getting people all worked up into an uproar over the "supposed" demise of the music club?

Just because someone says "It's official" doesn't mean that it is until someone more "official" (namely the NPGMC or Prince's website) actually announces that there will not be another installment of the club..(Which I don't believe has happened yet)

Just my take on the situation...

the so-called naysayers are simply the ones who don't have their heads so far stuffed up prince's backside that they can make a sensible judgement.

hopefully the npgmc will return in 2003 using honesty and manners to address the people who pay a lot of money to be part of a service which has failed many (not all) members this year.

the naysayers should be congratulated, as a previous post suggests, for not just kissing up to prince about everything.
