...why give this newly recorded track to a jazz festival website and not share it on your own members-only site?

How thrilled would members be to be given a decent bitrate mp3 of the track? It would be SOMETHING on a site that's dead as a doornail.

people have been speculating that providing them with a new song might
have been a part of his deal with the montreux organisation (you know,
the deal that was reportedly making him the biggest payed headliner on
the festival ever blabla).

so that might be the reason why it's not up on lotusflower.com

is that a valid excuse to not put anything else up on the site? no

Maybe later this year he might put some more old music videos on his site if we're lucky? maybe we'll get the video for Gold, TMBGITW and a live video of Take Me With U from the o2 (was on 3121.com but prince does love a good rehash..) all added around november. Then we'll get nothing else till Feb next year where he'll offer us more stuff if we re-join...
