i just wanted to let you all know that i have just filed a formal complaint against prince/paisley park enterprises/npg music club/npg records to the BBB.

i hope they either make them close the service or force them to never again commit the fraud of year 2.

You forgot to mention Gage...I mean if your going to try to make a difference, could you at least include their god-awful delivery service?

please, every single member of the music club who feel they have reasons to, you can file a formal complaint at www.bbb.org it is easy to do.

I wouldn't go to the BBB until after the 17th -- if I haven't gotten the box by then, I might consider it -- but to be honest, I'm looking forward to the box set and would rather have his first live album in great packaging over a "best of" and the other stuff -- I support what your trying to do, and I understand your anger...but I can't really complain about the product, only the failed delivery of what I've paid for. But, best of luck to you and I'll continue to check in on your progress as you post here.

I do hope you, and the others like you, can make Prince take a longer look at how his work is being presented and delivered over the internet.

Could you tell us briefly what your complaints were? I'm not trying to pick a fight -- I can see why some members are upset about this year. I too am disappointed but don't see what the grounds are for a formal complaint. If you receive ONA live by Dec. 31 (end of year 2), then "technically" the 4-CD promise has been fulfilled. And if ONA piano is included, then "technically" you've received 5 discs.

I'm just playing devil's advocate here -- again, not trying to argue.

If your complaint was about exclusivity, no tours in your area, etc., then you probably have a better case.

Good for you. I never saw a $30 refund I had coming back in.. oh, '95. I guess I brushed it off - but since they seem to be pretty inept with the whole "merchandising" thing, I'd like to see them get called on it

How many of you think to yourselves "I could do such a better job running the NPGMC?" I know I could and I don't just mean by giving more to the members. At the end of the day the NPGMC is a business, which means that money needs to be made for the company. This usually can only happen successfully when there's customer satisfaction involved, in which case everyone wins! My suggestion to them is this: ORGANIZATION!!!

And that's my 2 cents for the day!

What is the nature of your complaint?

I have seen many posts saying complaints have been filed, but I am not sure how there is a complaint to file. A certain number of CDs were promised and a certain number were received.

They promised 4 cds. They never said how the 4 would come (whether it be a boxed set or it be individual cds). They never said we would DEFINETLY receive "The Best of ", "Xenophobia", or "Last December." All they printed was that if u wanted 2 have "access" 2 these cds and more" u had 2 join the club. Prince probably had every intention of releasing these cds until he played back some of the tapes and realized how special these shows were. Since leaving WB, he is a "hands on" person with the music he releases. He seems 2 be the only person with access 2 the "vault" of material. That way bootlegs won't start floating like they did back in the day. If it was my music, I would do the same thing. I wouldn't want everyone having access 2 my material. Prince will probably release more NEW music in the coming year considering he will be through with the tour. Then we will get the other cds. I know there are many out there who say that these cds are complete (I believe Xenophobia is because he was playing it before the Dallas show).

My whole thing is that they gave what they promised, now some of u are complaining because it wasn't what YOU wanted. The club is not completely about YOU, but about THE MUSIC.

got no complaints. The club gave everything they promised, and then some! No other artists offer half what the NPG do. Who else would give fans a chance for seats on a TV show, open up the soundchecks and talk with the fans, etc? No one I've heard of. The club is a great thing.

Could it be Xeno, Best next Y??? It was not clear in the Tour program!?

you don't seem to differenciate what is really right from what is right according to prince. if you just think that it is fair to pay 100$ upfront for whatever comes to prince's mind every morning it is up to you, not for me. keep in mind that not everyone has had access to members priviledges because the tour has not reached everywhere. and, really, having a triple live album and the same piano album twice doesn't live up to either year 1 or to 100$. someone has to shut-down prince ways of making fraudulent business. he neglected wb for the reasons we all know, same way i will publicily claim how awful his service and npg music club have been, at least to me. i have the same right that you have. is it right to pay 100$ upfront just for the right to pay another 125$ for access to the priviledges we were entitled when joining? don't kid me... if it wasn't prince would you accept it? don't think so.

People are also unhappy with the response from the club, which varies from either no response to rude responses on many occasions.

People are unhappy when the music goes from being exclusive to "members will get served 1st" which then is only a week or two before it hit retail. For as far ahead as we paid in advance, and how many months since the US tour ended, why is this cool.

I'm not a lawyer. But ethically this reeks. People are consequently becoming vocal about it now.

What came first,the angry customer or the crappy company?

'bout to burst a blood vessel over some of this "he sent 4 cd's" crap. and now by saying "join the npgmc and access these 4 cd's" he was implying that we MIGHT have access??? ugh. i love the man's music too, but clearly he ain't no saint. at the very least he's a cheapskate of amazing magnitude...

I am very happy with the service he promised and he has delivered.I say if your not happy dont rejoin...

MY GOD I thought his music was about peace and love but look awho he gives his music to. If I was him I woulnt bother with you guys.

I have always been pleased with my membership and personally I will be rejoining in January.

He is going to give us the best of. Xenophobia, December and everything else he has promised like he always says "Dont you like surprises".


If your not happy walk away from the music.

Why do you do this...what is your point. After xenophobia my $100 was well spent. if you suggest there should be no club and then no celebration next year you are insane. why don't you spend your time and efforts on something meaningful in the world.

you paid alot more than 100 bucks to attend xenophobia. in fact, if those who go to the celebration love to throw an infinite amount of money down to see it, no matter what prince requests, then why doesnt he just sell his CDs at normal price, and jack up your ticket costs a few hundred dollars. that way we can all be happy.
