Constructive criticism of course....

1. First, he should open the site up to regular web surfers and casual fans so they can get a taste of his music and what the site has to offer. The way it is now, only the truly hardcore will join. That's fine and all, but if Prince wants to sell any downloadable songs or videos, or any merchandise at all, he's lowering his potential revenue by requiring $77 to even see the site.

2. Get rid of that globe and set up a streaming section like YouTube -- allowing users to comment on each video and share opinions, praise, or whatever.

3. I'd love to see the video section organized properly - by decade, officially released, and a special "Vault" section that has clips like the Montreux concert and other videos/music from Prince's vault. Maybe allow non-paying users to see officially released stuff, like the Seven or Kiss videos, and requiring membership to access "The Vault".

4. Set up on online shop where you can buy videos, music, shirts. Open the store to members and non members but give paying members a funky 50% discount on all items purchased.

5. Have a "3121" streaming radio station on the site that you can listen to 24/7. Include officially released songs, B-sides, 12" versions, concert audio, those old NPGMC shows, anything cool like that.

6. Have a proper news section that just updates the user on what concerts are coming up, what Prince is recording...

7. Have a proper photo section with concert, old, and new photos and allow comments from users like in the video section.

8. Get rid of that flash and go strictly html, css, php, and javascript. Maybe even get somebody to create games with Ruby.

9. Set up different CSS style sheets for users to choose from -- some funky Prince style, just go crazy with it.

10. The $77 member fee -- to keep users signed up year after year, include a new exclusive t-shirt every year that you can't buy from the shop and/or an exclusive disc of music from Prince's vault of his choosing. Could be a live concert, new or old studio recordings, remixes, or just him reading the Jehovah's Witness Bible!

11. Extend a hand to past band members and contributors by highlighting their contributions, links to their present sites, interviews, just some kind of historical perspective on Prince history. It should be all about the music, nothing real personal since he hates that (I'd think) and it's really irrelevant to the music.

12. Get some real info on recordings in the Vault, when they were done, names of songs, different versions. He could do this without even releasing the music... why let Per Nilsen have the only say? Prince has the tapes. Just listen info for the hardcore fans.

Lucky 13. Contact Activision or EA and do a Prince-only "Rock Band" or "Guitar Hero" game and feature all his great guitar driven studio music, concert music, unreleased tracks, and Prince history. I know Prince wants people to learn to play guitar instead, but the possibilities here are endless. He could easily include "77" songs from classics like When U Were Mine, Purple Rain, Let's Go Crazy, as well as all the new great guitar stuff like Dreamer, Wall of Berlin, 77 Beverly Park, the live version of Empty Room, 4 or 5 different versions of The Ride, Endorphinmachine and more. The set could include a plastic version of Prince's symbol guitar or better yet, his red or blue telecaster. It would be SICK.

Loving most of these ideas! Alas, I don't think ANY of them will come to fruition.

Make it look just like the NPGMC with new content every month!

All of the above ideas are great & make sense... That's why Prince won't do it.

as they seem to be making an effort-as great as your ideas are-lets just see if they can redeem themselves

Dream.. shit I gave up on that.. just do but, then again Lotus something site as to NPGMC..... put it in the Vault..

I guess when We will see the Dawn.. then it might be released but, not by Prince.
