I didn't join the new club, so I was wondering if it is different from the NPGMC?

Don't do it.
If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

Yes, very different.

NPGMC had some life to it, with the discussion forums and new content every week.

LotusFlow$r has nothing like that and is basically a dead site now, a waste of server space.

All there is to it is the (after you've seen it a few times, very annoying) intro, the 3 albums, 21 pictures, and about 30 videos/live performances.

There's also the optional 'free' t-shirt which costs $7 for anyone outside the US, and which at this stage appears to be mythical, and which strictly speaking isn't part of the web site but is included in the price (except the extra $7 of course).

Full details of the content on the site are on this thread. I think it's up to date.

If you're thinking of joining to be part of the new Prince online club, then don't, because such a thing doesn't exist. LotusFlow$r is essentially an online media player that only plays 3 albums and a few videos.

If you think the available content (and possibility of additional content) is worth $77 then go right ahead, but don't expect to feel 'connected' to any new 'Prince Experience'. After you've downloaded everything on it that you're interested in there is no reason to visit it anymore, unless you crave disappointment.

Mythology Edit: It seems the t-shirts aren't mythical after all, people are beginning to report receiving theirs. They look crap. biggrin

Save yourself the time and trouble.

For $77 you will:
- receive a cheap-looking tshirt that will arrive approx 4 months after you join.
- have time to cook a 4 course meal while you wait for the damn site to load after you log in (still, after all this time)
- be able to download 3 mediocre albums that you can buy for $11 at Target
- be able to watch videos and look at photos that you've already seen 1000 times.
-be thoroughly unimpressed with the amateur look and feel
-be amazed that was promoted as a revolutionary site is a complete joke
-feel almost as ripped off as you felt after buying the 21 nights book.

Obviously those inacurate statements are your opinion.
1.The LF t-shirt is just fine. Looks and fits me just rite.
2.Your computer must be junk, it takes me exactly 15 seconds from the time i log in till i get to access the content.
3.i don't know whose albums you been listenin to but i am enjoying the shit out of lotusflower mplsound and elixer.
4.Not everyone has seen the content on lf...I've been a diehard for 26yrs. and just have only seen the undertaker. confused
5.The waay the site is now is not how its gonna be always. there is way more to come than the 3 worlds u are seeing now.
6.If u felt ripped off from buying the book. i feel 4 u, However i don't feel that way at all.
I guess i have a little more patience than most. I am satisfied at this point as to the site and content. And knowing Prince i also know that the goods will be flowing b4 u no it.
Peace.
Prince did an interview with a woman at Record World. They talked about whatever, then he asked her: "Does your pubic hair go up to your navel?" At that moment, we thought maybe we shouldn't encourage him to do interviews.

All of this is exactly correct. Except now I think they don't even promise you the lousy T-shirt.
