WAV's or mp3 ?

as the file sizes are soooo diffrent on Lotus between WAV and mp3 has anyone actually noticed a diffrence in sound. I was happy with the mp3 so didn't bother with the WAV's -now as the site is soo dull-i may download the WAV's-for something to do lol-is it worth it?

It's definitely worth having the WAV files for archival purposes, if nothing else.

The MP3s are such a high bitrate that they are "transparent" (the human ear cannot tell the difference from CD quality). The WAV files are CD-quality.

Now is a good time to download, since there's not a lot of traffic like there was in the first few weeks.

I've never believed that rhetoric about not being able to tell the difference. If you listen to them with high quality speakers or headphones and with no background distraction, you can tell the difference.

I can tell the difference for sure. I have both versions in my mp3 player. You can really tell a difference in the quality. And that's just in my factory car stereo.

well i did it-it did take a couple of hours-but well worth it. Deffo tell the diffrence. I'm going straight from my pc to a Roland VM pro digital mixer and then to tannoy actives-and though the mp3' files sounded good-these wavs are amazing

nod The difference is very apparent, specially with good headphones or with good speakers in a reasonably neutral environment. I would best describe the difference as a brightness, or lack of low-mids on the 320kbps mpegs.

Like Se7en said, get the WAVs, as they should be uncompressed CD quality.
