Official: ONAL worth $5 (from export documents)

Hi,

I just got my box (in the UK) and was looking at the export documentation, and it has the value of the box set (including my bundled ONA studio CD) as $5 !!!

Even Amazon has the box set on pre-order for $53 (which still makes $100 look like a lot!).

I was also interested to note that Sandy Motzko who was officially shipping the products from Paisley Park Enterprises in Chanhassen had personally signed the export declaration. It's no wonder there were so many delays if she had to sign every single one that was going overseas!

OOOWWW god, U Moron! That's the cost of the shipment stupid. Has nothing to do with the value of the content? Do u really think they state the value of the content of packages ON it? That would make it REALLY easy 2 choose wich packages 2 steal, now wouldn't? Damn, that I even take the time 2 Respond 2 this...

It's so kind of you to point out my apparent stupidity, Neo - I hadn't realised that I was a "stupid moron" until you helpfully pointed it out. It did actually occur to me that it might be the cost of shipping, so I checked it very carefully. The phrase "value of contents" was a giveaway really... Now did you check your own documentation, or did you just respond to my post without thinking? I won't make any judgement about your intelligence - I don't think I need to.

I received mine yesterday. Being the 1st year that I could be bothered to subscribe to the mucic club, I duly received my copy of the One Nite Alone studio CD enclosed in the box. Did the 2nd year members receive anything in additional to the box set?

Anytime you you ship a package to another country from the USA they request this information. Believe it or not it's shown right there on top so everyone can see it. Geez!!! People need to take a deep look at themselves before calling others names.

Now I'm gonna go join the other morons over in the corner since I know what they mean.

Much Love,

the "5$" are officially the so called "commercial value" of the package. as lolinex stated it's a must to fill out that part of the form for international shipments. also insurance of the package and taxes are depending on that value. unfortunately i already shreddered my export document, but i assume the value must have been higher, cuz i paid 22 euros just for tax and handling (in germany) !!!

The documentation states the contents are gift / promotional material. As it is not something that you purchased (technically, anyway), and is a low value item ($5, get it?), you shouldn't have to pay any tax.

Soapstone

In addition, if they (NPGMC) valued each package at 50 quid (or so) it would be they who incurred the charge (by Fed – X) cus with Fed-X International Priority, Fed – X handle the import export customs “stuff”. I think you should check it out Charly, you could save yourself a few €s.
