Lots of complaints about NPGMC - the answer is simple

I have said it before in posts and a thread I started - our opinion of whether NPGMC is worth the money etc is purely based on our personal experiences (ie did we get front few rows at concerts, attend aftershows, be amongst the first to get the CDs etc)

So leaving all that aside...the simple way NPGMC can improve is...

CLEAR ACCURATE AND UNDERSTANDABLE COMMUNICATION WITH CUSTOMERS

Sorry for shouting but it needs to be clear.

1) Tell us EXACTLY what we are going to get
2) Tell us as close as possible when we are going to get it
3) Tell us how much that is going to cost

We can all then decide whether $100 per year is worth it because we would be in full possession of the facts.

Very good. But you seem to forget that Paisley Park is
built on a time/space fracture where universal law does
not comply.

Even if every single club member will send them an email
with those exact words you wrote, I highly doubt wether
they would understand.

They would probably feel attacked and retreive even
further into their 5th dimension bubble.

If 99% of members would not rejoin next year, that exact
same logic would cause them to consequently release to
the 5 remaining members, a 10cd box set comprised of all
the circulating outtakes in excellent remastered quality.

We shouldn't be mad at them. I'm sure they mean well,
they just happen to come from another planet.

I also agree that communicating in clear terms is the
main problem.
Say what you mean, and mean what you say.
If a problem arises that makes it necessary to change
something, simply say so.
We are adults. We understand that things don't always go as
intended...just say it isn't going as planned.
I do intend to communicate this to NPGMC.
I will probably join again. I had a ball!
I still feel there will be one more thing from NPG to us.
But due to lack of clear communication, I'll just have to wait and see.
And that should not be.
But I'm cool fro I do not believe in sweating small things.
And anything as extra-curricular as this can not be very high
on my list of priorities. fart Oh, excuse me.
Peace
So...how's everybody doing? smile

If i can add one more:

4) Tell us exactly what is exclusive to club members(esp CD's, DVD's).
If all the CD releases become available to non-members a month or two later, what's the point of the club?

Absolutely! If they said, "hey guys, joining the club means you will get the same CDs as the public but 1 month earlier plus you will get exclusive advance seating at concerts and access to soundchecks and aftershows" then that would be CLEAR and we could all make our informed decision whether to join.

The OTHER BENEFIT of clear communication from NPGMC would be that it would stop us all bitching on the ORG because we would KNOW what we gonna get!

OR
they could (and maybe should) not say ANYTHING. No Promises at all...just join the club if you want...you will receive "stuff" but who knows what. It might sound silly but I think where the NPGMC gets itself in the most trouble is by saying something that doesn't happen (even if it's just an idea) So if they make no specific promises we can't hold them to anything. Now alot of folx wouldn't join up in the beginning but...I'd be willing to bet that the most of us still would sign up...just to support Prince and his endevors...regardless of what material items we may get in return. Just a thought.
"not a fan" falloff yeah...ok
