i don't think we should count things as downloadable unless they intend us to download them. it's time for a new direction / it's time for jazz to die

Nobody ever said you would get 10 albums worth of music if you joined.
Prince has ten albums ready to go - how and if they ever "go" has never been dannounced. If you joined because of a vague hint about 10 albums then you are setting yourself up for a disappointment.

I doubt anyone posting in this thread so far had really thought that there would be downloads of the 10 albums alluded to in the press release for Lotusflow3r. The Prince camp BS was pretty transparent this time around. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

FunkyDissCo said: Counting videos which are 20 years old, which everybody and their mother already have, and make up 10 albums outta that is kinda odd by the way. Of course it's kinda odd, but remember whose website we're talking about here. I only calculated 6 albums 'worth' so far, btw.
As squirrelgrease just pointed out we're not (at least I'm not) really expecting 10 albums worth of anything to appear. It was just to illustrate the point that if the 10 albums worth alluded to were questioned - if there were a means of questioning it, or any hope of an answer - then an answer such as 'there's already '10 albums worth' on there' (assuming they uploaded about another 4 albums 'worth' of crap) would not be beyond the bounds of possibility. Prince's reputation with regard to 'value for money' websites precedes him. Expect nothing, avoid disappointment. stanleylieber said: i don't think we should count things as downloadable unless they intend us to download them.
In the interests of logic, I don't think we should count things as un-downloadable unless they aren't. Intention has nothing to do with it. Lemmy, Bowie, Prince, Leonard. RIP.

With the LotusFlow3r CD package still in the Top 20, I doubt we'll see anything soon. I think once it falls off the radar, we will see website updates and probably another download (for pay) opportunity.

If the next download (if it happens, of course) has a fee tacked onto it, do you think that would be fair to members? I'm certainly not disagreeing with your assumptions, I just wonder if folks would be up in arms. I would be pissed if I was a member and didn't receive more music than the Lotusflow3r set as part of my $77. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

I know people would be up in arms about it too. I highly doubt he'll offer a full album's worth of new downloads for free, let alone SEVERAL. We'll see . . . I hope I'm wrong!

I've posted this in another thread before but, my prediction:
There will be maybe 2 'Jazz' (instrumental) albums, and these will be passed off as the exclusive content on Lotusflow3r.com. >> Site closed.

i forgot about this but i think there will be live sessions beamed from his house or wherever on his website maybe a couple of times during the year....this will make the website price a bit more reasonable but i still expect some unreleased music...

I think it will be after Prince feels we have 'digested' the 'Lotusflow3r' set.
But unfortunately, there is nothing in the 'Service Agreement' about any new material being provided at all. Of course, we could reasonably expect some updates, but according to the terms, legally, they do not have to be delivered.

I hope he'll put the 1989 version of Rave Un2 The Joy Fantastic and the 1993 version of Come and the 1994 version of Gold up for download, but those albums probably clash with his Jehovah beliefs, so I womn't hold my breath. FREE THE 29 MAY 1993 COME CONFIGURATION!

I've posted this fake track-list before, but an educated guess would be that the following album will rear it's head in early 2010:
7 Friends (Have Joined My Club) 7 Years In L.A. B Gone, Haterz U R Needy C U Next Tuesday Kool Kash Since U Hurt Me, M Leaving 4 Good If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.
