i wrote to the club asking about my cd set and also about the site being down...my question was thus:

Is the site currently down for redesign or is it a permanent move?

There response was:

We cannot say at this time. It has been taken down.


Now, this may just be a case of generating a bit of mystery, but with so much speculation, this sounds a bit dodgy to me!

Yep but you normally don't put a site down when you redesign it unless you are totally unprofessionnal.

You have the choice to either redesign it offline on a local server and you have just to make a few amendements at the last minute (databases connections paths for instance) or you do it online with a new IP address.

Then you remove all the files when you are ready to upload your new site when the testins is finished.

If they lost the site on their servers due perhaps to some techical difficulties with with Infinetiviy's merger with Pixius, its possible they had to restore the site from a tape backup or something like that.

It takes a while to restore a site from backup and get everything working properly again. They may have not wanted to give you a definite answer until they were sure everything was restored properly.

Prince had all of his (our) money tied up in United Airlines stock. NPGMC's out of dough. Game over.

With all the mess surrounding NPGMC's year 2, I wouldn't be surprised that the release of the box set signals the end of the club. With all the BBB complaints and unsatisfied members, I could see P throwing his hands in the air and saying "forget the club, lets just go back to a basic website since even my supposed fans can't be satisfied".

Remember, they've always called this an experiment...
