Yes bored. what bores me is the awful quality of some of the videos in the dome section. Blotchy AND small...for $77?...a joke. In these days of broadband and high definition streams it's unacceptable and so last decade however you dress it up. I mean spinning a wheel to choose videos (of which there are far less than it looks due to repetition) - does he think I'm 5 years old?? But I had very little expectation before hand and only joined to be able to download the new albums as I live in the UK so I'm not too bothered. |

I am still laughing at the ones who paid 77 bucks for that nonsense. It wasn't no NPG Music Club with promised monthly downloads.
There's TONS of content Prince could add to Lotus (or any past version of NPGMC or 3121.com), but alas..... CHA-CHING. | |

For me, it's just a PAID site I log onto to TRY to get MEMBER ONLY tickets.
I'm not bored with the site, but there is nothing on there that I HAVEN'T seen before. Say it's just a dream...

I get bored easily, so yeah! I wasn't expecting the site to be a revolving door of new pics, videos, music and tickets anyway. None of his websites were really like that except (to an extent) the first installment of the NPGMC where we got new ahdio shows and videos every month if you were a premium member. I actually believe he's done with the whole lotusflow3r concept and is working on his next project. I feared this would happen once he didn't get the number one slot on Billboard because Dr. Funkenberry was hyping up people, stating it was close and how Prince would do a show for Bria if it did happen. At that point I felt Prince was expecting it to debut at number one. Moreover, since Dr. Funkenberry is an inside source to Princeworld and they started complaining about how something wasn't right with the numbers and how Prince should have been number one, I just knew Prince wasn't pleased with the results when it didn't happen. This was another chance to proove to the record industrty that he could make it to the top of the charts without their assitance. The last number one album he had was 3121 and he was signed with Universal Records at the time! Wendy and Lisa summed it up nicely in their latest interview of how he would react when things don't go his way. Prince is not gracious enough to take the number 2 spot without being pissed off about it, especially since he was so close. Of course this is all speculation, but it's a very believeable theory.
I just hope that he still tours with the lotusflow3r albums because it's the best albums I've heard from Prince in years! It's boring because there is no interactivity... and of course no new content.
It's just a place for Prince to hawk his goods... he's using the 90s model of the web as a retail outlet... not the web 2.0 idea of social interaction, community building, and user-generated content. As a result the site is a bit of a dinosaur. What a mess, really.
Is he so desperate for cash to hock this mess, or is he that out of touch? heck, just put up a housequake type uploader and let fans upload their goodies. Let the fans do all the work like in the good'ol Housequake video section days, The fams will gladly pay 77 dollar for the privilege to upload their work, which i imagine is 10 times more than what's up there now. and that childish looney interface!
