I haven't joined yet and really don't want to spend the money if it isn't worth it. I only want to join for advance ticket info. The NPG website was great for that!

Considering that a physical copy of lotusflow3r is $12 and a good quality Prince t-shirt is $30 then its not the greatest value at the moment.

If there is future access to pre-sale of tickets or exclusive best in house seats them it will be worth joining.

BTW, the radiohead version of Creep is pretty good.

Its worth it. The one suggestion I would have for members is to make certain your modem speed is up to par so you can enjoy the videos and songs uninterrupted.

the question: if you are nearby one of the shows?? if yes - most likely worth it just for good tickets.

Its a lotto ticket at the moment. In the past Prince came through with some suprizes/music but nothing is guaranteed. No rush to join IMO.

If you hear people raving about a bunch of unreleased tunes, if you are near a show..it's worth it.

i joined. i'm happy being a member of the lotusflow3r. I've been a fan for awhile & have all the videos up-(so far)-except one old one and of course the new released videos. I like the solar like galaxy experience. as realm listed that's what you 'get' so far. but there is still over 11 months or more to see what the lotusflow3r blooms. if u are only in it for the tickets and really don't want to spend your money i'd wait for a upcoming tour announcement or know that Prince is coming to a city near you.

That's darn near close to what I got (but I think we're both slightly below average). Of course, I was testing my wireless laptop and not the desktop - so that could possibly be different. What service do you use?

As a test I went into LotusFlow$r to look at one of the videos. Here are the results :

0:16 Wasteland with stupid blue ball is loaded (this now loads about 5 times faster than last week)
0:25 Entered user name and password
1:33 Pretty (but pointless) time warp / worm hole thingy is loaded and access to site finally achieved. This is also much faster than at first, and getting faster every day, but at 1 minute 33 it still rates as by far the slowest site to log onto I've ever encountered.
1:48 Having selected Prince's chin, 49 thumbnails loaded.
1:52 Selected 'Shh...' video at random. Plays perfectly.


All the videos I've tried play fine for me, so I doubt it's an isp speed problem. What browser are you using ? I use Firefox, and from what I understand this site works better with it than with Explorer.

I have a couple different ones i use IE,Chrome and i have Safari installed on my PC,it works. But I open LotusFlow3r in IE or Chrome. I've not had very many problems at all with lotus, i think just the first few days of launch and a few other times, example a few different times in past week or so i've had that same deal with the orb loading slow in the 'wasteland' and buffering slow,but it has been very minor and for more than most part works well. but possible that maybe they're working on the site every now and then.
i was in all honesty curious if my ISP was atleast normal speed. i seen on the site my ISP tech gave me www.speedtest.net that there is a booster, maybe i'll try that.

Right, I'm no computer geek (well not much anyway)

But I am a phone engineer.

Tangerine- might want to run a few more tests on speedtest.net, I don;t know the other site but it doesn't look too reliable to me-speedtest generally is. Going by your first result you should have no problems at all. You're looking at download speed mainly and 8meg is well above what almost any site will ever use.

Rogue- You're about the same so you should be fine too although yours seems to vary a bit, could be contention ratios or could be line issues. You might want to log into your router and see if the connection rate is changing or if it is showing errors. (could also be you're choosing servers too far away, pick a close one it limits the number of links that could be running slow)

Jillalife- Kinda need a bit more data, Is that 418kbps upstream? If not that's quite slow.

I really do reccomend Speedtest.net since the data is given in a much better form and you get both upload and download speeds.

If the site's running erraticly it is likely to either be due to your computer or possibly line errors which mean data has to be re-sent althogh thats getting a bit technical for explaining here (it's also not that likely unless you get problems surfing in general).
