Anyone else have a security check on their CC? For some bizarre reason, lotusflow3r threw some security check on my credit card AFTER they accepted payment for membership.
My credit card company called to verify transactions I made after joining lotusflow3r. They said it was highly unusual for a company to do a security check AFTER accepting payment. As a result, payments on my CC were seized until I verified them over the phone. This happen anyone else? I joined on the first day. I read somewhere that early payments were not through a secure server. Is this true?

I get that quite often. Usually it's an unusual time and location of the charge that makes them flag the transaction (Lotusflow3r being based in LA caused my bank to question the validity).
Last year, I was paying for some clothes in Las Vegas, and the payment was flagged and I had to call the bank to let the charge go through. I was then called by the bank (at 6am Vegas time) to confirm the payment again. Just pointing out that this security check has nothing to do with Lotusflo3r/Prince, but just unusual activity on your card from the bank's perspective.

Citibank shipped me a new card recently, saying that because of a merchant security breach they were giving me a new account number. I haven't purchased too many things lately- any other Lotusflow3r/Citibank members have this problem?

i think that they should give an option to add a new CC to your lotusflow3r account especially members who joined in the first day or so.

actually you can change your credit card info on lotus flower at any time, just go to your account info and click on the cc number and then enter a new one.. I switched mine after paying the membership with my debit card to another credit card with a very low limit to avoid having issues with their non secure server...

Not sure why you say it is not secure?
It is secure it has a valid 128bit certificate and this has been there since launch??

I agree, who knows really, it seems at first some orgers said it wasn't and I'm sure if it wasn't now it probably is secure, I'm just not comfortable having my debit card info saved on any website for an infinite period of time... better try to be safe than sorry

The site address always displayed https and had a padlock symbol so has always been secure, which is kind of a give away.
I know what you mean though having credit card details stored is always a little worrying.

I know what you mean though having credit card details stored is always a little worrying. Not so. When the site launched it was secure, but then because there were 'technical issues' with accepting non-US CC details they changed the entire site to unsecured, in order to 'help' others join. It remained unsecured for at least 3 days. Lemmy, Bowie, Prince, Leonard. RIP.

Barclays sent me a list of several items bought over the internet that they were querying; Lotusflow3r membership was one of them. The other was for some porn

Yes I did with my bank as well. Had to ring bank to un block card. Lotusflow3r did a 1$ test transaction, which most credit card companies will instantly block. They regard it as highly suspicious. So good going yet again Scott and co.!! [Edited 4/9/09 3:44am] "My God it's full of Stars"

My company told me over the phone it was odd that a company would run the security check AFTER accepting payment, that would be something that would be done before hand.
Hence my card was flagged and payments seized. Its all good now, it just strikes me as odd behavior.

yes same thing happened to me - took payment THEN did security check. Card was frozen and I had to call centre to get it unblocked. A minor hassle, but disconcerting....

The site was not sure.
I.e.: the CC info was not encrypted when it was transmitted to the site. What the situation on the site is, after the info has arrived I don't know. It could still mean that despite the SSL the CC info is insecure. Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.

So you mean you can't even spend your own money?
See how weird this is? The system is so insecure that they even have to police your spendings. Why would that card be so expensive now? (and I don't mean your spending but the atucal service costs etc) Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.
