There are 365 days in a year. If he puts everything out at the start, he will have little to give out later on resulting in you fans being angry that towards the last 7 or 8 months of the site in 2009 there will be close to no new material or features.

Considering he has a back catalog that spans 3 decades, he could probably add one thing a day for 5 years and still not have gotten to everything.

Nice to see you around prince smile

no, i don't think that's really accurate, and if you stop to think about it it's obvious that it's not accurate.

i think there's a threshold of value. i'm going to say that for myself, right around three CDs worth of unreleased (UNreleased, not REreleased) music on the site would satisfy my $77 for the year. then he could coast with the occasional live clip for the rest of the year and i wouldn't have much to complain about.

he doesn't HAVE to drop ten new songs and three new full length concerts on us every month for a year, but he certainly COULD, and wouldn't run out of material for many years to come.

Consider yourself lucky than. More than half will expect more smile

Romeoblu

3/10

The globe thing is just annoying. I do think we were misled. So far there is very little content which was previously unseen and the stuff there i is all recent stuff.

What was with all the talk about clips from the archives?

Why on earth is the globe full of pictures from the recent book? personally I can't see why anyone would want pictures.

Thankfully my 3 could still turn into a 10.

To do that a would need to see videos/clips from throughout his career and at least 2 of those mentioned vault albums put up for download, unleess one of those is Roadhouse Garden. Then it gets an instant 10 and is a bargin at $77.

As someone said early on in this thread there is very little to actually do on the new site. Once you've downloaded the albums that section is now useless. Pictures? Okay, look at them once and that's it. Videos? Nothing spectacular although I do like some of them and there is potential for more goodness.

I think my big problem is that in this day and age there is so much potential for an artist to create a relationship with their fans online. It seems like Prince is just saying look at the pretty things and neat globe that someone created as a college project. I wonder if I can create a website out of that? I see so many other band sites (free ones and pay sites) that seem to have a real connection with the fans. Constant news from the bands, contests, a new song here and there. Videos (I admit that I am optimistic about the video section). Seeing what is already out there just makes Lotusflow3r seem less than it could be.

For those that say it's only been out a few weeks...if the site isn't ready then don't put it live. Simple as that.

Personally, it is worth the $77 for me to (hopefully) be assured of decent concert tickets. And if there are some bonuses along the way then so be it. I do miss the NPG Music Club though. Nice to know that you're going to get a few songs on a monthly basis.

That's just my opinion. No rating.

Lotusflow3r memberships are valid for one calendar year from date of purchase, and are non-refundable. Membership includes access to restricted areas of Lotusflow3r, access to pre-sale concert tickets, and the ability to download music and videos from Lotusflow3r.

I'm tentatively optimistic that they'll live up to their contract.
That would be a nice start.

Don't get me wrong I liked the site but I only revisit it because I'm too lazy to download the songs onto my works laptop.

That stupid blue ball is starting to grow on me.

Actually I'm gonna up that to a 3. It's mercifully free of dopey cryptic updates.
