I think the NPGMC site has more than enough grounds to say that some,not all violated the terms and or rules of that site. I say what the Prince camp/moderators were guilty of is the way the site was closed down.

I will speak for my self to say I received MORE than I thought the NPGMC would bring,merchandise-music-videos-celebrations -Forums MEMBER CONNECTION 4 LIFE! CHAT-(where is Nesci_) pre-sales- front row tickets- MTV-special paying .25 cents for a concert and a party !(met Patti La belle) and the most priceless is the friends made 7 years later. And firstly Prince.Org being the primary integral part of this Prince experience. The internet trinity was/is Prince.Org-House Quake-NPGMC.

According to what many have posted about the fees from the previous, non-existing club, the membership fee for that was for the "lifetime" of that particular club. So that's basically what you paid for. The lotus site is a brand new site, altogether.

I joined not knowing what I would get 7 years ago and if I get nothing more than kickass seats at a nearby show, then the 77 dollars is worth it to me. People spending money on what makes them happy are not fools.

And for all we know, the biggest bitchers joined anyway.

There is a middle ground here. The NPGMC was not closed down correctly. And even if you love P to bits, that is indisputable. Fingers got burnt, yet we are still going back for more. So back off on folks who still have the right to complain, surely the fact that many (inc me) have signed up again means we have given him another chance. But you know the saying, once bitten, twice shy. Lets hope he doesn't F*** this one up. He wont get another chance.

No. It's easy to understand. Prince ripped his fans off and other fans are willing to jump in and thank him for doing so. When you hear "lifetime membership" or "lifetime subscription" or "lifetime warranty" you don't think it's for the lifetime of the club, the magazine or the item under warranty. You wouldn't buy a toaster with a "lifetime warranty" and throw it out if it broke a week later, because that was the end of the toaster's life.

No other performer charges fans $100 for a year. Then another $25 for a "lifetime" membership. Then asks them AGAIN, for another $77. This is ridiculous. Prince fans defending this practice must be extremely wealthy or extremely naive.

the next to the last year of the club, the price went to 25 dollars. Once it was time to renew, those that had paid their 25 bucks did not have to pay again and received a "lifetime membership".

Seems like many people didn't appreciate that and seem to have selctive amnesia when it comes to Prince. He changes his mind like the wind and they get mad at him for it.

Sorry Vendetta that really does not make sense. prince brought the 25$ lifetime membership rule in to get more people to join, obviously he couldn't recharge existing members. So everyone including those who already signed up were promised "lifetime" memberships. It was that unfortunate promise, that people have the problem with, he did not deliver.

And i'm no hater, I didn't really care much for the NPGMC anyway, but removing the DMR license for folk who had bought tracks was just wrong. We bought music, we own that copy. very bad practice for an artist trying to stop illegal downloads of his music. IMHO!

Well it sounds like some people were a bit gullible believing that a club that charged $100 for one year would then want $25 for it to last the rest of their lives.

To be honest I couldn't care less about the NPGMC, the audio that we paid for however, i think is just wrong.
Ho, hum.. As i've mentioned before, I have got it all again now anyway, but thru unofficial means. Not good policy is it to encourage fans to download/buy boots?

Hell, every album from For You-thru- I bought on cassette, vinyl, and then eventually CD! After that, it was pretty much CD all the way.
