Idea for perfect update to site that will make it well worth $77 The three shows that Prince played on Saturday night will definitely have soundboard recordings (no idea if they were filmed and nobody has mentioned cameras).
If Prince were to release each show as an audio download then that would easily give $77 worth on top of what we have got so far. It would also make all those who do not live in or near LA...VERY HAPPY. And one final point...according to some reviews the crowd at each concert was not all avid Prince fans. Either they couldn't get tickets or others with better connections/money/scalpers got there first. So this would be another way to give a present to the fans. Well I can dream right? 'I loved him then, I love him now and will love him eternally. He's with our son now.' Mayte 21st April 2016 = the saddest quote I have ever read! RIP Prince and thanks for everything.

Unfortunatey i think it'll be just a dream, if you read carefully the terms and conditions of the site it's written that for some content you'll have to pay, even if you're already a member!

In the T&Cs on the site it mentions that the membership doesn't include the purchase of additional "premium content", so it wouldn't surprise me if were shows to be made available, they'd have to be paid for separately.

As much of a mess as the sound appeared to be that night, I'm guessing he wouldn't want to release recordings of those shows.

Yeah we know how much of a perfectionist Prince is with his live recordings--even going so far as studio overdubbing... so I doubt the Saturday shows will be released given the reports of sound issues throughout the day & night. i agree that since he was upset about the sound, still doesn't mean that he can't go back in2 the studio and tweak it. even previous live versions seem 2 always get the overdub treatment, days of wild is the perfect xample of this on the 2 versions he has released. man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

Aaah! Nooo!!!! No postproduction, especially not by Prince! Leave the recordings as they and put them on CD. Where does the postproduction stop? If something was not good enough, why even do the aftershow? (afterwhat?) Be smart, make quick buck, release the stuff. Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.

BTW: I asked support@lotus:

Not sure about those recordings...but something more "exclusive" and "current" than what we have now. That said, I need to wacth the Sacrafice of Victor...though that would be a cool download seeing as um it's out of print. [Edited 3/31/09 12:20pm] Christian Zombie Vampires

Okay I admit I am no expert here but I *believe* that the sound problems were likely caused by "output" from the soundboard rather than "input" to the soundboard. In other words it would be possible to get a "soundboard" recording that was pretty good (ie live concerts are not recorded from the speakers due to the acoustics of the room etc - to get audience sound they set up additional mics). If anyone IS an expert please put me straight. 'I loved him then, I love him now and will love him eternally. He's with our son now.' Mayte 21st April 2016 = the saddest quote I have ever read! No. It would make sense to correct the sound issues at the show. Hire a better crew, better equipment, whatever is necessary, Start at the source. Because we, the fans, have to endure all those mishaps. Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.

Tastes vary but the core of what I mean is: When mr P starts (post)production it is never known when and where it will stop. He might go over the top, or get bored and abort the project, etc. Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.
