Did anyone get Conga Room tix?

I was not able to get Conga Room tix. I think it is sad that the "tru" fans forked over $77 for this site and there weren't more Conga Room tix available. There are plenty for sale at outrageous prices on eBay and stubhub, which I find disgusting. It is a shame that in Prince's new galaxy fans are already getting the short end of the stick. mad

Also, we do not even know where our Nokia Theatre seats are. Dag Prince, get it together. rolleyes

Well I am happy that you guys got tix. I sure didn't, and I went to that one first. However, maybe if I didn't have to spend 15 minutes being told that my screen name was taken, I would have been able to nab some Conga Room tix. rolleyes

I don't know. I am not feeling this so far. I have to hype myself up for the two shows that I am going to and the trip to L.A. However, this farce of a launch has left a bad taste in my mouth. I haven't even bothered trying to figure out how to download the music. At this point, I'm not even interested in listening to it. sad

Out of curiousity I just checked eBay to see what tickets are being sold for, and I was shocked. They're selling anywhere from a couple hundred dollars a ticket up to almost $1000 (I think for two tickets, but might've only been for one...)

That's really shitty. I'm sorry to you folks who weren't able to get tickets thru the site. sad I hope something works out for you.

Thanks Stephanie! Yes, those eBay prices are outrageous. You know I try to remain positive about Prince, and I try to defend him when folks say he doesn't care about fans. However, I really had reservations about trying to go to these shows and this whole new ANNUAL membership site.

I hate to admit it, but I am regretting planning the trip and going to the shows that I do have tix for. I am almost at a place where I would sell these tix if I could, but I did ticketfast print-at-home, and the club tix you have to pick up at the damn venue and show proof of membership. I hope something changes in my mood between now and Saturday because I am not feeling Prince or this experience now. rolleyes

sad

I totally understand the frustration and disappointment (and anger) you're feeling right now. The ticket situation tonight was WAY MESSED UP.

I hope you feel better about everything by the time Sat rolls around and you have a great time at the shows you were able to get tickets for. hug

I didn't know where my Musicology seats were, but ended up in the first row. I wouldn't worry about your seats if you got them on Lotusflow3r.com, they will be awesome.

I envy you. I'm stuck in Mpls.

Come home, Prince!!!

Sure space was limited. However, when you see Ebay and the ticket pimps with more tickets than Prince and his "tru" fans had access to, it's BEYOND ridiculous. It's also beyond ridiculous to lure fans into paying $77 in economically depressed times with the thought that they'd be able to have access to buying tix to these shows. I'm with bella, I've spent LOTS of money on this farce and am kicking myself now. I truly am not looking forward to going now.

Oh, please - they said in the email that went out before the site went live that they had a few tickets for the shows. They didn't promise they'd have tickets for everyone. People who thought merely plunking down $77 was a guarantee of tickets are the ones who are "beyond ridiculous."

Since when does Prince control who can buy tickets through Ticketmaster? If people bought them and are scalping them on eBay, how is that Prince's fault or responsibility?

Pull up your big girl panties and quit whining.

Genesia, you need to get your big girl panties out of your behind. First of all, I started this thread asking who got Conga Room tix. Why don't you try answering the original question instead of trying to regulate how people should express their displeasure with their purchase. Folks paid $77 to the site and they have every right to complain about the how poorly the launch was executed, including the ticket issue.

Artists and the show promoters (AEG or whoever else) do have input regarding the number of tickets that are set aside for their shows as well as where those seats are located. Therefore, Prince could have allotted more tickets for the 3/28 shows.

Someone on another thread said they called and found out that 500 tickets were set aside for the Nokia Theatre. The place holds 7100 hundred people, that's less than 10% of the total available tickets. Prince obviously new that dangling the hope of getting tickets would entice people to sign up on the night of the launch, that's why they put it out there. I do not think it is unreasonable or "ridiculous" for fans to have expected for more than a paltry 500 tix to be available for the main show. If that's all they set aside for the biggest venue of the night, who knows how few tickets were available for the smaller venues - Club Nokia and Conga Room.

Prince figured out how to play the game with regard to fan tickets and pre-sales with the NPGMC, so there is no excuse for this. The problem is that this whole launch and ticket thing was so last minute and haphazardly put together that fans ended up fighting for scraps, which is uncool for those so-called "tru" fans who handed over their $77.

Most of the people who I saw complaining the first night rarely even dog Prince on this site or "whine" as you call it. If they were such incessant Prince whiners they wouldn't have been sitting up waiting for that stupid dynamite to explode so they could pay $77 to get the chance to spend even more money on tix. So like I said, you need to fall back and stop calling people with legitimate gripes whiners. rolleyes

Did you try to buy tix for the shows? Did you sign up to the site? If not, then what is the purpose of your comment.

Also, I do count my blessings every day, among them are my life, my health, my family, my friends, my pets, my growing faith, etc.. I love Prince's music and seeing him perform as much as the next Orger. I am grateful that I am fortunate enough to enjoy his music in my lifetime. However, I don't classify that as a blessing. It's called perspective. Get one.

I don't agree that your gripes are legitimate in this case. I did join and I had the chance to get tickets to all six shows if I had wanted it.

The impression given is that Prince was forcing people to join. He wasn't. We all have been fans for years on end so I guess I am not understanding people being upset about this.

You got a chance to go to 2 shows. Some of us can't go to any of them.
