At Least the CD's are Good I could not be more disappointed in the website. He needs to fire/sue the designers.
But, like most fans, I'm about the music and I'm liking both Prince CD's. Lotusflow3r exceeded my expectations and MPLsound has some gems. If I'm ever on an 8 hour drive, I'll listen to Bria.

Thanks! LotusFlow3r target CD has "Crimson & Clover", LotusFlow3r.com download does not LotusFlow3r.com download has "The Morning After", and the target CD does not.

Thank you 222! I just wanted to know if I was missing anything big by not joining (still debating). Does anyone know if morning after is any good?
I don't think Prince will have a good "morning after" once he hears what most people are saying about the site!

I haven't looked around the site much, It took me so long to get the albums and I had to ask a friend what the problem was, you need to change the file name to .zip then you can get to the files.
Why we have to do that ourselves is strange and why are there no instructions. So far still only on Elixir first listen due to PC problems, it's OK not totally dreadful, but maybe a 4/10. Milk and Honey was a better album by far.

None of Lotusflow3r is any good. Exactly the same mediocre crap he's been peddling for the past ten years. © Bart Van Hemelen

I don't think Prince will have a good "morning after" once he hears what most people are saying about the site! The Morning After is the equivalent to All the Midnight's in the World from Planet Earth. It's kinda ok but doesn't really fit with the rest of the album.

Ok..but tell me why would a mofo still be checkin for prince if he says he hasn't heard that "hot dylan fire" from p in 10 years. I can't stand shit hop...and that's why you won't find me on allhiphop or any other HIPHOP site complaining about it. Easier to just ignore it. 1 over Jordan...the greatest since

They are spoiled fiends/fans that are never satisfied and will complain continuously. It might be psychological because what pleasure can they get coming on a Prince site and continuously carry on with on going negativity other than they are miserable and misery loves company. Easier to just ignore it. no offense but some1 with a nickname of "popgodazipa" might not understand why a 20-30 year fan might be unsatisfied with most of the newer stuff. i'm assuming that you are big fan of that song and that sound, which really doesn't fall in line with the experimental funky stuff that Prince was doing in the 80s, the memories of which is what keeps most people coming back. as far as the new music goes, I got my hands on it this afternoon and I cannot say that I've heard anything that blows me away. a lot of lotusflow3r seems like easy listening music to me, while mplsound tries to catch the old magic and comes close but doesn't quite do it in most cases. i think most of the reviews (rolling stone, etc) that come out in the next few days will not be as kind as the early ones have been. looking at it now, i can really appreciate this idea - give the fans of guitar/rock songs a disc and the fans of the electronic funky shit a disc, but i think that the focus wasn't strong enough on either style to really deliver on either one. to me, it came out more like "Planet Earth 2" (Lotus) and "Musicology 2" (MPLS), with neither as good as the original. like any hardcore fan I will give it more listens and see if I come out with a different impression. [Edited 3/25/09 17:58pm] None taken...I've been down with Prince for a good minute. I love Prince's earlier works just as much as his Crystal Ball era stuff..I despised the hip hop, what the hell or those 5 brothers with no instruments in black shirts with P on stage prince era.. What I recognize in Prince is growth and I don't sit reminiscing about yesteryear and long for the influences that Wendy and Lisa obviously had on his earlier work. My taste in music has changed also..I'm a Peg, Steely Dan guy in a Toxic, Brittney Spears world..but both of those are still my jams. I really appreciate the attention and sheer volume of work that P produces and know that if I could be half as good and dedicated in anything I do...I would be a smashing success. But it always comes back to the music and I know damn well if any new artist released a gem like "Valentina" they would undoubtably be compared to P era classics like Dorothy Parker..but to hell with the comparisons, both of them are stone cold grooves. 1 over Jordan...the greatest since

He has intenret fame of being prines biggest hater or wghat have you. And he enjoys that. You know how some children (or adults) will even take negative attention. Because at least its attenton. Now not to make this about Bart but yes there is reason to complain about the sites mishaps recently but to dismiss the music? Its just his schtick that he has been doing since 1997. He is is like that Lou character. Though he isnt cognitively deficient, it doesnt mean he is not an internet troll.

I betcha Prince agrees. I betcha most of these songs will NOT be played regularly. I betcha Prince will stop "promoting" this album mere months from now. I betcha these albums will get exactly the same treatment as anything Prince has put out post-1995: dumped and ignored mere months after the release. If you think there's anything on these albums that will be featured in future tours, think again. If you think there's anything classic, think again. Here's an idea: cue up Joy In Repetition (and I don't mean the pathetic verins he did of this post-1995, I'm talking about the album cut), and listen to it. If you think there's anything on any of these albums that's worthy of being mentioned in the same breath as JIR, you need to have your head checked. Lotusflow3r sticks, Mplsound is a pathetic attempt at recapturing old glory by imitating the sound of his 1980s albums (and just like Rave an utter failure), and Bria's album is undoubtedly a pile of dung but I haven't even listened to it. Sheesh, even his protégés are boring these days. Why does he even bother with them? © Bart Van Hemelen

Yeah, because I'm the lone voice here, right, I mean, it's not like there's some huge bitchfest going on, it's not like that Scott dude is now sending emails to the Org to attempt to stop the bitching. It's not like the EXACT SAME THING happened when NPGMC v1 was launched -- oh wait, it is, and all the bitching from people like me did what? Let's see: MP3s and videos were upgraded to better quality, and the crappy QuickTime interface was dumped and replaced by a standard website. What have YOU ever done for your fellow fans? © Bart Van Hemelen
