TV glitchy

I am sure this was on here already but I can't find it so please to forgive. When I look at the video on the little TV, it is kind of glitchy. Also, the smoke or whatever going across the screen is not real smooth. I don't want that to interfere with my enjoyment of the site later so ... anybody know of a fix? I already maxxed the memory the site can use and I am using a high-speed connection (cable modem).

So ... does this mean that I am the only one that has the problem, that this is a dead horse that is not being beaten anymore and I just missed it, or that nobody knows the answer?

Sometimes it's glitchy. Try viewing it when there's going to be less traffic on the site.

no, you are not the only one....and it's not traffic related either.
I don't know what it is....I checked my cache limits, I upped my paging file, I upgraded my flash player, I tried all kinds of stuff but I get the same thing still. I need help too!

Same for me too, just hope it's not like it when it opens proper, the music plays fine but the video is jerky along with the audio for it.

I think it's on our end not prince's. cause not everyone has this issue...infact it seems we are a select few who have this issue. I just went down the hall and viewed the site from a co-workers computer....and it played smoothly. hmmm...

I just played it from my work computer and it is fine. When I played the tv from home the other day, and those clips were up, it was a bit glitchy, but then became clear. I then logged off of the org, and the other windows I had open, and it played much better.

Shorty, was that site the only thing you had opened at the time you looked at the snippets?

It could be a lack of RAM, or too slow RAM speeds. Additional virtual memory probably wouldn't fix it. I've had it play really smooth, that's why I suggested that it may be a traffic issue. But it caches to your computer before playing, so server allocation is probably a long shot.

I don't have a ton of RAM but I do have 512...that should be enough...but how do I change my RAM speeds?? I'll try that if I can figure it out.

Yes, mine was choppy at first and kept stopping, but then I tried it later, and it played a little better. I do have to clean out my computer at home though because I haven't done it in so long and I'm hoping I don't have trouble when I join tomorrow. However, it plays fine on my work computer.

Could be the video card. What kind do you have? How much on-board memory?

RAM speed is tied to the CPU and pretty much set in stone. Adding RAM will definitely speed up applications and browsing to heavy Flash sites, especially if you only have 512MB. With all of the bloated additions made to Windows XP over the years, 1GB RAM is barely enough to run the OS and a couple of apps. Laptops have even more speed issues as all the hardware has been crippled to run as cool as possible.

You can minimize apps that run in the background, but there are inherent risks involved.

Radeon 9600 with 128MB ... computer is Athlon 2.1GHz with 2GB RAM. It certainly should be able to handle a Flash website. It can play World of Warcraft with most settings maxxed!

I have a significantly better computer right next to it that isn't glitching at all so it has got to be something with this computer and it should be something I can fix with a setting somewhere. I will worry about it if the problem remains when the site comes up. Thanks for the suggestions Purple People!

I am having the same problem. It sounds like buffer...ing, you know when you try to veiw a video from vh1 or mtv etc. and you get the word buffering as the video is trying to play. I just hope this doesn't happen then the site opens.

Did you clear your temp files in your internet options? That sometimes causes internet freezing issues as well.

It's a high quality flash-based site, which requires some serious power (processing and memory).

He has other issues then, 'cause that's plenty of power.

He needs 2 use "C Cleaner", 2 clean the drive and 2 fix any registry issues.

U should try that 2!

Google it. It's free, and it works well.

That being said, it won't help if the basic RAM and processing isn't enough.
