Still wondering if this Club has a clue?

i received this:

> Hello NPGMC USA
>
> We want 2 know how many U.S. members have not gotten their box set yet by 2day, Friday, Dec. 6. Please emale us back with ur name and famname.
>
> Love4oneanoter,
> The NPG Music Club

Now, you've got to be fucking kidding me. One: you mean they DON'T KNOW who they've sent it to? and Two: If you wrote THEM a letter and asked THEM for information, you MIGHT get a response if they fucking felt like it or if they approved of the way you wrote it.

I suppose I could play devil's advocate and compliment them on at least TRYING to get on opinion on whether or not they're doing their fucking job, but frankly, I'm blue in the face from talking about how disappointed I am with the whole damned experience (Atlanta aftershow and front row seats not withstanding, but I paid MAD JACK for those tickets and endured a minor nervous breakdown with their server ordering them). That, and I'm sure the usual crowd will roll out and advise me to stop whining, remind me that its "only" $100 and that if I don't like the Club, not to join - which I am not, BTW.

So save your energy.

I just found this e-mail hilarious. I wrote them a LONG letter, politely and eloquently expressing my views about the Club and advising them that I planned to let my membership expire after this year (posted it here) followed up on it twice and never heard shit. Now they want to know from me if they've done their job. Can you imagine the Electric Company, Cable Company or telephone company contacting you to see if your phone, TV or lights were working? Unreal.

That, and they mispelled "Love4oneanother", or it's just some Clubspeak that I haven't deciphered yet.

Send the fucking discs, cash my check and kiss my ass goodbye. "Free the music" or open the vaults and I may just come back one day. Prince, I love your music, and I'll get my hands (and ears) on as much of it is I possibly can, whther you choose to receive compensation directly from me or indirectly from the people you sue is entirely up to you, but your Club needs to re-address its priorities and make up it's mind whether or not it's a "business" (which it most certainly is) or an "experiment"; a "service" or some kind of half baked religous cult. I thank you for all of the art you've graced me with over the years, but I have personally paid for my last "symbol cane"...

..and, no, I DON'T have my CD's. Thanks for asking.

can you just get a grip on reality for 5 seconds.

OF course they know who they sent it to

you are failing to remember there is a middleman in all of this.

Called Fed EX or whatever company they are using.
If NPGMC has posted all the CD's
It's in the hands of the shipping company now,

NOT NPGMC

"Electric Company, Cable Company or telephone companies"
directly provide you with a service, no middleman

just think for 5 seconds..

If the NPGMC managed to actually deliver the CD's to a shipping company, they should have a record of this.

I suspect they have no clue whose CD's have been sent out and whose CD's are still sitting in their warehouse, thus the need for people to email them (so they can cross them off the list a 2nd time and not have to mail a 2nd set).

I'm not so sure about this.
NPGMC has no insight in what is happening at Gage.com. They wrote me that the shippign was done on a per country basis. (yeah right!)

My grip is quite strong, and I think constantly.

Of course I know there's a middle (mail) man involved. I myself have even shipped items to friends and family all over the world and was able to log the status of my package through a wonderous and magical invention known as a tracking number. I don't have time to go into this process in great detail, but it's generally quite effecient. I managed to track the status of my shipments all by myself!

And, by the way, cable and electric companies DO use middle men - independent contractors who are paid to install provide maintenence to the service. The guy who hooked up your cable DID NOT work for your cable company.

My real point in writing what I did was to emphasize the fact that...oh, shit...just read it again and you should know why I wrote it.

You know, a part of me wonders if this isn't just some way of covering their ass. Obviously, they're aware that some of us are disatisfied and that a few members are persuing legal action (I'm not). Is it possible that they're looking into PRECISELY what they promised and advertised in their CON-tract?

Whether or not exclusivisity was ever promised has been debated, but the fact that MEMBERS WILL BE SERVED FIRST has never been. Now, if members don't get their CD first, clearly THAT is a violation of some sort. Maybe they want to guranteee that all (or most) of us get the damned thing before it goes to retail...?

Really, I don't give a shit. It'll get here when it gets here and I'm certain I'll love it. But, you gotta' admit, if you were a Music Club member rolling through Tower Records and saw the fucker on the rack before you recieved it in the mail, and you posessed the slightest bit of objectivity about Prince, you might be a little pissed.

sure if you sent a single cd to someone using this service it would arrive in 2 days or whatever they say ..

Now, try sending 50,000 separate packages - then tell me they ALL arrived in 2 days ...

God, its just common sense...

No, more... There was a thread comparing the confirmation numbers. Highest and lowest for ONAL and/or ONA.
Maybe you can find the results.
But even then, the task of shipping the 'sets' is easier...

Duh.
The number doesn't matter. They're understaffed anyhow.

They can explain themselves to the BBB, because I already filed my complaint.

I hope u are successful at whatever u are trying 2 accomplish. I don't see a need 2 do this since they are only promised 2 give us 4 cds...they just never said which 4.

I think you'll find that in the ONA Tourbook (in a legitimate advert for the NPGMC 2002) they specified exactly which 4 CDs we'd be getting.
