The NPGmc Inventory, the Org wish list.

Let's post, without too many sidetracking, what it is you want most from the NPGmc.

Is it studio recordings from the vault?
Is it live material from the vault?
Is it a special insight to Prince's ways of working?
Would we like a web cam in studio B?
Is it a better site? Think www.bjork.com
Is it better communication?

Give me your ONE favourite WISH concerning the MC and maybe we can make it happen.

I think, what I would like MOST (not for Christmas, because we do not celebrate Christmas) is...

A more extensive site that offers some interaction with our musical idol.

More to the point news. And not speculations, like we are used to now.

More pictures. Pics from movies, clips, concerts, outtake photography from sessions with Jeff Katz, for instance?

More to the point wallpaper (Lovesexy wallpaper, Sign "O" The Times wallpaper, The Rainbow Children wallpaper).

Lyrics, maybe? With pics/art-design from the same era?

A forum where we can post and have the idea Prince is reading us personally. LoL. I like THAT idea! Doesn't matter much to me, but I'ld like Natasha to have a place where she can express herself...

CLEAR COMMUNICATION that tells us exactly what we gonna get for our $100 not what we MIGHT get.

Carry on with the CDs but let's have some of the following:

The Vault 1978-1982
The Vault 1983-1986
The Vault 1987-1990
The Vault 1991-1994

One download per month as a special treat be it a demo track, live track or whatever.

Competition to win a free ticket(s) to the Celebration

Perhaps an online poll to allow us to vote for our favourite vault trax to configure a CD (opposite of what I suggested above?)
'I loved him then, I love him now and will love him eternally. He's with our son now.' Mayte 21st April 2016 = the saddest quote I have ever read! RIP Prince and thanks for everything.

If I could pick one thing. More Music, thats all. Worst thing is, we know there is plenty of it.

Actually, Bjork had her fans pick the tracks for her Greatest Hits album.
Besides that release, she released a five cd box set called Family Tree, containing one 5 inch cd containing her OWN Favourite songs and four 3 inch cd singles containing songs she considers refelctive for her entire career. (for more info check www.bjork.com )
The interactive part gives fans a personal touch and the release of the box set shows she cares enough about her fans).

I know I should probably not compare apples and fruits, but maybe Prince could THINK about in what way Bjork offers her material to her fans. I do not notice any dis-satisfied Bjork fans filing official complaints...hint, hint.

Is there something like positive criticism?

*More music. I could 'absorb' a full cd every month. If he's not producing that much, he should release vault tracks.

*Speaking of the vault, how about letting us request a disk of previously unrealeased songs, say 14 tracks, and pay a flat rate per disk, so that we get the Vault tracks we actually want, and we pay Prince for them for a change!

*I want to be able to get the live tracks (and video if available) from all of the shows that I was ever at. Downloads would be ok.

*I want the people answering emails and posting messages on the site to have names, have information, and be accountable for what they say. I want them to be fans who actually care about the club.

*Continued priority access to concert seating. The soundchecks are fun too.

That's about it. smile

Doves,
Mel!ssa

The word "should" is of course open to discussion, but he indeed has enough stuff to make it worth while.

I think the release of Vault material does not have to get in the way of any new material, if processed right.

Maybe Vault stuff for members, new releases through a record company?
Just an idea.

I'd like some new studio material [besides Xenophobia] cuz
I'm really anxious to hear what the man has been working on
since "The Rainbow Children" and "One Nite Alone" piano cd.

Those two are amongst my fav albums of his, and with this
new band, a new studio album would no doubt sound incredible

So bring it on!!!
and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

More music of any kind -- live, studio, vault, new, whatever.

The awe-inspiration nature (or lack thereof) of the club's web site is not important to me. I'd rather have a sub-par web site for the club and have access to more music than have the opposite.

I'm not even asking for it to be free to all members...put the music up in the retail section for download or purchase on CD.

With all due respect, there ARE dis-satisfied Bjork fans. Especially where the "box set" is concerned. 5 mini-discs and yet-another greatest hits CD does not a box set make. The whole package could have fit on two regular size CD's, including the greatest hits CD. Yet it was priced as a 6-CD box set. Complete rip off.

I'm a Bjork fan, and my opinion is not isolated. Most of us Bjork fans have 90% of what is in that package. Very sad. It had such potential. I did not buy it, after I had a listen with someone who did buy it. He says he doesn't listen to it anymore because it doesn't add anything to his collection.

So if you talk about Prince ripping us off, look at Bjork this year. Capitalism at its worst. Abusing fan loyalty. Sickening to see her go that route.

Well, there's my Bjork rant. Prince is far superior to her in every way, except for her web site.

So, back on track:
I'd like to have more downloads again, like 2001. NPG Ahdio can't be too hard to put together, can they? A video of his performance on Leno. Other performance videos. And information on what Prince is doing in the studio. Who he's playing with, if he's recording stuff, etc. Without ruining all the surprises though...

Well, for starters, scrap the Pay-In-Advance idea.
Then, I'd like to be able to choose say, a dozen vault tracks from a list on the site which I could then download and burn onto a CD. On the site would be a printable back cover, inlay and label for the CD (several designs available), which you could print off to make your own packaging (amending the track-listing on the back according to your choices). Hey presto! An official looking CD that won't get lost in the post and you could have pretty much instantly.
At a charge of $10 per CD, I'm sure that there'd be a lot of takers on that idea.

The same idea for any new releases would be cool as well.

The option of having them sent to your house would be nice, too.

Oh, and lyrics to the releases posted on the site.

I am thinking; have Vault material available in the Retail section a few months before they hit the stores and new studio albums available to all through stores.
Updat ethe site into a feast, a smorgasboard of fun.
What about THAT?
Music for everybody!
