I don't mean to sound arrogant. Just stating that I'm losing interest, which is the sentiment of a lot of fans.

Your expectations are the problem. If you are losing interest in Lotusflowr before its even released it is because you are so demanding. Prince isn't doing what you want him to do so therefore Prince is dropping the ball.
Prince's mistake is he releases info & tidbits in the months before a cd release to get people interested. What he should do is less. He shouldn't have released any songs or portions of songs. He shouldn't have gone on the radio & played those songs ahead of time. At this point we ahould have heard nothing from the cds. He shouldn't launch a website in any form until the day the cds are released. Should have only announced Prince has 3 cds being released exclusively thru Target & they will become available March 29th. Then nothing until the cds are about to be released. He never releases enough info to make people happy so he should just stop jerking people around. & not release any info. Some of his fans are rather high strung & can't handle things too well.
biggrin

You are right, our expectations are the problem and my only point is that his audience's expectations have changed, but his approach has not. The result is that his audience is less engaged. He said 3 CD's and we expected 3 CD's, but he really meant 1.5 CD's worth of new material and one of his personal booty call CD's. When he said January, we all expected something significant in January and the full project sometime in February. It is almost the middle of March and lotusflow3r.com is about as interesting as the pitch black 3121.com. When there is a concert ticket for January 31 for $77, you think that we may get access to that concert.

He can give tidbits. That part is still fun. The part that isn't is when he says something and he does another. That is getting old and causing a lot of us to doze off and not enjoy the ride quite as much as we used to.

With all of that said, I love Prince. His music practically raised me and I know Lotus Flow3r will be great. I'm just not sitting on my hands the way I used to for the new material because I've become numb to his once provoking tactics.

I would encourage him to find a new way to be provoking, because that is what he wants, but he hasn't been creative enough to find a new way to do it.

When I'm bored I turn to something else. Bad business sense for anybody selling a product.

I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that
