It's probably already well known that I'm a huge Prince fan, ever since witnessing his premiere concert tour opening for Rick James back in 1979. I'm also usually rather bothered by negative comments I read about Prince on The Org, particularly when they aren't warranted.

Now, all that being said, in light of what I'm reading in this thread, I must say in all honesty; when I first saw that new pic of Prince on his new site, two things crossed my mind. First: "My God, he's really losing his hair", and secondly: "This looks like one of those pictures someone takes of loved-ones in their coffin".

Concerning his apparent receding hairline: Prince, nor I, was meant to be, or look, 21 for our entire lives. Eventually, he was going to have to start looking older, unless he was going to resort to all kinds of cosmetic procedures that I think sort of goes against his principles (as well as mine). He's maturing & growing older, as are the rest of us, and he's sharing the transition with all of us. I looked in the mirror today, and I noticed I don't look anything like I did when "I Wanna Be Your Lover" came out . Moreover, I think it's fair to say, neither does anyone else reading this comment. In fact, some here looked more like embryos when that hit was released, if they were ANYTHING at all besides an itch in their daddy's pants, lol.

Then, the whole "Looking Dead" part: Well, I am sure it has to do with his eyes being closed, and then the heavy make-up furthers that look along. However, Prince has ALWAYS worn a lot of make-up, and it has always been a part of his appeal. But I won't front: He looked dead! (Glad he's not - It'll be a sad day when Prince is no longer able to record or take the stage).

Another thing, Prince has always appeared way under-weight to me. I know he's a small guy, but he has always appeared to me like he hasn't had enough to eat. Ironic because I'm sure that guy could be dining in the finest restaurants EVERY night, eating WHATEVER he wanted. Certainly I hope that it's a matter of choice he's taken to be that thin, but I have always thought that Prince would look better if he gained some weight. I hope with all my heart he is well, but in the way he promoted such promiscuity in the late 70's and through much of the 80's, I think it's amazing that he is still alive today at all.

I love Prince, he's one of my favorite human-beings; I wish him good health & longevity. And look forward to all the music & performances he'll be sharing with us going forward.

I don't understand those reactions, either. Some folks seem to get incensed by the idea that Prince's hair may be receding or thinning. So what if it is? People age; things sag, things wrinkle, things fall out. That's life. Nothing and nobody stays shiny and brand-new forever, and it's weird to me that there are such passionate reactions to the possibility of Prince's hair thinning or even just greying.

Maybe the reactions of some are based in naivite about aging or about Prince actually being a flesh and blood human being, or else those folks have a deep-seated fear of someday balding and thinning themselves and so they vehemently deny it possibly occuring to Prince.

I looked at that pic of Prince and this just might get me banned but so fucking be it...because I have to speak on it!! He looks dead in that picture! The only thing that's missing is the motherfucking coffin!

These days, when society is literally saturated with sex and is so grossly obsessed with sexuality, what could be more 'shocking' than to go against the grain and proclaim celibacy? I don't think Major Nelson would lie about such a thing, if he wasn't he wouldn't bring it up. I think he has just reached a balance in his life in referenc to his sexual and spiritual being.Sex in his earlier years was in the forefront of his being of which was natural (purple people are sexy m.f., however sometimes forced and othertimes in between the times... likewise he always had a spiritual message... often surpressesd, yet causing much controversy and talk.

To me ...he has evolved over time and now is more spiritual centered. His celibacy is respect to his God and woman. I think its cute...because now they focus on the real things that matter... sex can often cloud judgement and it truly sad to be with someone and not be able to come up with some valid things of why you love them other than ...they are good in bed...Sex is a sacred act no matter how you cut it and it should be respected that way.

Oh yes, as for the picture....its mot bad it just seems he is in deep thought with a slight look of weary and tiredness, which doesn't surprise me , he is a Pioneer, activist, rebel with a cause, and recognizes his purpose.

He has had a spritual rebirth, which is mind and life changing. I look forward to see what he has in his box of Chocolates...hope there is a lot of carmel;)
