As for mine, I'm going to tell them truth, no matter how painful, whether they want to hear it or not and I expect the same from them. I believe...if the people that claim they love me won't tell me the truth, who the fuck will?

As for Prince in that picture he looks dead! I didn't say that to be mean or funny, I said it because it's the damn truth and somebody had to say it!

It's interesting 2 me that the last 2 "official" shots of Prince have been more natural like this. I actually like seeing his hairline, and this may sound strange, but Prince appears much more as the legend he is, with this natural look.

This look is somehow more "iconic" than the ageless look.

That was my disappointment with the '21 Nights' book. I would've rather seen more real, candid shots, like the Hawaii book.

But can I ask a question?

How come in general (not just on this website, but it life) when someone sees someone with a receding hairline they seem ANGRY about it.

Like, "oh my God! How DARE him have a receding hairline."

Seriously, why is that the general reaction? I'm not talking about just shock of seeing someone they once knew with more hair now having a receding hairline.

I mean people act really mad about it. Like the person did it on purpose or something. Or like it's offensive.

What gives with that?

I have to agree with Shorty and the others about this picture, sorry. I was surprised when I saw it. It just looks....strange to me. I think Prince is gorgeous and that he's aged very well, don't get me wrong - but this picture has a weird vibe to it. He sort of looks as though he just came in from being caught in the rain.

It's interesting to see him in a less glam photo, though.

It's probably already well known that I'm a huge Prince fan, ever since witnessing his premiere concert tour opening for Rick James back in 1979. I'm also usually rather bothered by negative comments I read about Prince on The Org, particularly when they aren't warranted.

Now, all that being said, in light of what I'm reading in this thread, I must say in all honesty; when I first saw that new pic of Prince on his new site, two things crossed my mind. First: "My God, he's really losing his hair", and secondly: "This looks like one of those pictures someone takes of loved-ones in their coffin".

Concerning his apparent receding hairline: Prince, nor I, was meant to be, or look, 21 for our entire lives. Eventually, he was going to have to start looking older, unless he was going to resort to all kinds of cosmetic procedures that I think sort of goes against his principles (as well as mine). He's maturing & growing older, as are the rest of us, and he's sharing the transition with all of us. I looked in the mirror today, and I noticed I don't look anything like I did when "I Wanna Be Your Lover" came out . Moreover, I think it's fair to say, neither does anyone else reading this comment. In fact, some here looked more like embryos when that hit was released, if they were ANYTHING at all besides an itch in their daddy's pants, lol.

Then, the whole "Looking Dead" part: Well, I am sure it has to do with his eyes being closed, and then the heavy make-up furthers that look along. However, Prince has ALWAYS worn a lot of make-up, and it has always been a part of his appeal. But I won't front: He looked dead! (Glad he's not - It'll be a sad day when Prince is no longer able to record or take the stage).

Another thing, Prince has always appeared way under-weight to me. I know he's a small guy, but he has always appeared to me like he hasn't had enough to eat. Ironic because I'm sure that guy could be dining in the finest restaurants EVERY night, eating WHATEVER he wanted. Certainly I hope that it's a matter of choice he's taken to be that thin, but I have always thought that Prince would look better if he gained some weight. I hope with all my heart he is well, but in the way he promoted such promiscuity in the late 70's and through much of the 80's, I think it's amazing that he is still alive today at all.

I love Prince, he's one of my favorite human-beings; I wish him good health & longevity. And look forward to all the music & performances he'll be sharing with us going forward.
