NPGMC-MEMBERS ONLY

A quick definiton of consumer is best articulated by a look at its root.
consume-To destroy, to possess, to use up.
If you still don't get the point here are a few synonyms.
-ruin, (lay)waste, demolish, devastate, obsess, exhaust, deplete, drain, expend.
The club is what the memebers percieve it to be. And if it is a product meant for consumption only then the club by definition will cease to exist. Brought to an end by the very ones it seeks to serve.
The commentary -Chocolate Invasion Part 2- had good intentions but clearly did not have the articulation needed to quite the masses.
The club, like music, is an organic experience. The seed cultivated in the mind of the artist, planted in the collective of the internet, and left to be nourished (provide with intellectual or emotional sustenance)by it's members. What we feed it, it will become and it will never reach it's full potential if we continue to cultivate it with cynicism and disdain.
Yeah, it has it flaws, but so do you. Enjoy!

Organic means it grows. It does not grow. It is stagnant without any real input by members.

Organic; try www.bjork.com

Not just the same wallpaper they had up two years ago...
New ones with every release.
Video's.
Hundreds of pictures.
Articles.
REAL fan input.
Not just commentaries about what we should be or should do.
FREE stuff.

It isn't Free The Music anymore. It is Free Yo Mind. Something that Prince wants us to do. I think it goes both ways.

Why doesn't the club quit treating its members like ungrateful bastards instead of giving them what they pay for in a timely fashion. I guess its easier for them to sit down and type a bullshit dellusional letter than to compile and provide us music that we payed for and an active club that we thought we were joining.

Don't priests coax parish members into dumping money into thier church with all kinds of empty promises that they are doing good? Is Prince's club any different?

When I go to KMart and buy some stuff, I'm not doing it because I'm so enthralled and concerned about them going bankrupt that I want to save their store, I just want my damn stuff.

Get over it Prince. The fact that people joined in the first place showed they were trying to support you and your music. The fact that you took forever to send the bare minumum to them under the false pretense of a "club" which does absolutely nothing, shows that you can give a rats ass about your customers (consumers whatever the fuck you want to call them) once your have their money.

Consume = to use economic goods

if you want to look at the root of the word:

Consumere = to take up

More commonly used: to take up into oneself

With that, you can give it as many negative connotations that you want. The truth is, there are just as many positive connotations as well.

Quit being a freak.

Is there a reason you had to post this message here to reach us instead of on the official "club" web site?

Maybe its because people hardly bother going there anymore because its seldomly updated.

Maybe this proves our point.

No it isn't for consumption oinly. it is for members only: exclusive. further more it is at least 4 albums and they were supposed to be delivered THROUGHOUT the year. Last, but not least: ever heard of customer service? In your world of music as plants it means that the more you take care of the feeding of the plant, the more it will grow. The club hasn't taken enough care of their customers this year. the evidence is all over this place. It's not like there are only a few wacko's who are complaining .
You are not my "friend" because you threaten my security.

It's not so much what you're trying to say, but the way that you've said it. It comes across as a little pompous and patronising. You seem to be telling us how we SHOULD be feeling about the club, rather than accepting how we ARE feeling about it. I know my earlier response came across as blunt and rude, but seeing as you now sound genuinely concerned as to why we are feeling negative towards your post, I think it's only fair to tell you why I think that it's got the response that it has.
However, regardless of what other people think, you should still stick to your beliefs and not take anything to heart what is said in response to them on the Org. After all, none of us know you personally and we're simply responding to your comment, not attacking you as a person. Keep on posting what you see fit - and be prepared for people to disagree with you, sometimes in less than courteous ways
