You pay for a concert ticket and you get what you deserve - a good show. Simply because you happen to like Prince's music doesn't mean you deserve anything from him, let alone an invitation to his home to a private party or a website he designs to your specific liking. the whole thing, announcement, the songs, and most of all, the website - have been of the lowest quality. I dont ask anything from the man, but if he just looks inside himself and thinks about his legacy - he can either look back at this period as a period of great music and excellent output or another hyped up disappointment - i think that he never finished 3 albums and that he has set expectations on his not only his fans but HIMSELF too high. He has enough material for one album, at this moment in time - I will take just that not 3 half assed projects with no album. we can say that we should not expect anything from him, but he set it upon himself. perhaps when he sees less and less of clicks on his pointless website, he might add another photo of himself lying on a wall. if you cry wolf enough no one will listen. Ummm... truthfully if he wanted to right now... Prince could pop out 5-6 albums, as if yesterday if he wanted. Some of us got the boots to prove it. But the truth is Prince has already presented all three albums for review by the media. Thats old news. The only holdups with the releases was coordinating both the digital release and the hard copy (CDs) through a deal with a retail chain. As far as the site itself went... Prince NEVER said the site would be up n running on Jan 31st. We the fans, ASSUMED it would be based on the date shown on the ticket. The date turned out to represent the site unveiling party which a few fans and members of the media were invited to. Also if you paid attention to reputable sources.. the word got out early not to expect much as far as the site went on the 31st.... just something. And thats what we got. The foundation for a site which replaced the placeholder (which people complained about to)... and a few more tracks. From every account of the site... from those who saw the presentation... it may well be worth the wait. Final opinions should be saved for when the site actually goes up fully... which brings me to this... How can some people keep commenting on the quality or lack of quality of the site....when they HAVE NOT SEEN THE ENTIRE SITE. Its like taking a cup of flour and judging that the cake will taste like crap before the ovens even warm yet. Again... THE FULL SITE IS NOT UP! We are only seeing a small... very small representation. Was it anti climatic... sure it was to the over zealous and over critical. But to the sensible who actually paid attention when the word got out that the full site was not going to be ready for the 31st and /or those who realized that we only assumed that it would be when he never said it would... it was not. Fact is... after Prince's internet = black hole comments.... I'm sure 99% of us were shocked that he decided to create a new site. I know I was prepared for life with out Prince on the net. I think in lieu of that.... I can give him some time to get it together.. its not like he owes me anything to begin with. But yeah... yeah... I know... many of you beleive he does owe you something.

Call it what you want ("teaser", "advertisment", "a prologue") but sofar the form around the new music (meaning the website) is simply amateuristic.
In my case, killed the enthusiasm (that I certainly felt at the the start) of a new webdesigned Prince project. Ofcourse there is anti-climax (sofar) when the first message is: "A WHOLE NEW GALAXY IS WAITING IN JANUARY" and all that happended is a lousy designed, childish and unimaginative webpage. Part of a meteor traveling through space with some earthly relics like a tv and taperecorder ... come on ....

That's the reason why I won't give him a pass, where his site is concerned because for him to talk that shit and then turn around and try to dabble back in cyberspace again with all the money and resources available to him, for all intents and purposes his site should have been kick ass, straight out the gate! And since I do develop websites for a living, that's my professional opinion! I knew from the start that I loved you with all my heart.

Furthermore in the interview with Ann Powers (early January) the website was already mentioned. If you want to reach a bigger audience that would have been the time to have the website up and running. It might attract some people who don't check lotusflow3r.com everyday. So it is not only disappointing for the fans but also from a business point of view it is disappointing. And I think he shouldn't change websites for every new album but that is a different topic Formerly known as Parade @ HQ and formerly proud owner of www.paradetour.com

Because the major label tells them to. This is the OLD WAY. Prince should embrace the NEW way. Prince should embrace what Prince wants to embrace. -you ain't funky at all, you just a little ol' prude!

I don't want to hear he's not ready...There is no excuse I will buy for not having a fully fan interactive website with music, videos, news, etc. It's 2009 the technology is there. I can tell you this I could come up with an official Prince website in 3 days that would be better than Lotusfow3r.com will ever be. That is the truth.
Yes u could be rite, so this whole Prince website saga is bullshit!!! I mean as if really cared what u orgers really think of him! Prince I will always miss and love U.
