More prized than a trip to Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory are the invitations granted for tonight’s unveiling of Prince’s latest galactic web project, lotusflow3r.com . Press invitees include Steve Appleford of Rolling Stone; Benjamin Trott from Six Apart; Kat Corbett from KROQ; Danny Shea and Katherine Thomson, music and entertainment editors from The Huffington Post; Emily McKay from NME and Edna Gunderson of USA Today. Also invited to the secret soiree are 3 select Purple Ticket winners, whose names have been withheld to protect what’s left of their innocence.

The plan since the beginning has been to show the work to the press today, while anticipation builds for the official opening. Following the special preview, guests will be treated to an hour-long concert in the funkiest house in the Hills. After that, we hear the band plans to crash Clive Davis’ party with an Alicia Keys joint they’ve rearranged.

With a beginning like this, no doubt this year is about to be stellar!

Ummm, this sentence sounds troubling...

Are the press just seeing it earlier in the day OR are the press the only ones seeing it today?

No matter what legal issues, bands who can't use names formerly given to them or general snarkyness, I'm glad Prince has chosen to come back and play in cyberspace. I hope lotusflow3r.com will provide the same kind of magnetic north that there seemed to be with his other sites (not counting 3121, cuz blogs are not websites.) I'm looking forward to it.

I'll just wait an see what happens...

At least this pretty much comfirms the site going 100% live is inevitable.

so the press has seen/heard the site/albums today...and the site opens tonight for the rest of us...well time will tell I guess....

omg. i love Prince , but sometimes it's exhausting the way he does things.
It's been a long day and I'm about to shut down this computer and just catch up tomorrow.

Well, thats good to hear. Maybe it WILL really open at 8 pm. I thought that was just some random blurb on the ticket.
But what I'm waiting is fr him to announce some concert dates. Nokia Center, baby, Nokia center. *crosses her fingers and toes*
