New Prince website now streaming three more new songs

Lotusflow3r.com gets going

Ben Rogerson, Mon 2 Feb 2009, 10:46 am UTC

Having existed in a 'preview' state for several weeks, Prince's new website is now operational.

Presumably, more content is still to be added to www.lotusflow3r.com – there's no video at the moment, for example – but you can load up the virtual boombox with three new songs.

The first, Colonized Mind, sounds like it could be one of Prince's most commercial guitar ballads in years, while Discojellyfish is a slice of instrumental electro funk. Another Boy, meanwhile, appears to be another cut from current Prince muse Bria Valente.
"A fan's dream"

The site also features a selection of mocked-up press clippings that contain quotes attributed to fans who were invited to Prince's house to hear him play and look at the new website.

"The video section seems like it will be the most talked about – the quality will be a fan's dream," says one. On the subject of the music, he or she claims that "Prince is in a special place now where he's stretching more than in the past".

As previously reported, Prince plans to release three albums in 2009 without the help of a major record label.

remember the last time he promised an amount of album in a year for the npgmc. We got C-note, which is a reminder of the lifetime membership fee we paid. Seeing as how a lot of us already paid a lifetime-membership fee, why r we gonna have to pay another membership fee. The one we paid, see as it IS a lifetime membership fee, should be transferable to any of his own official sites.

My tape deck is stuck. I tried playing Discojellyfish, but it isn't working. Now I got it. Nice eighties funk!

Where is this lifetime membership thing coming from....Uh, I figured he would just release the albums to the public. I'm not going through that crap where he might and might not release material but we are definately paying!

I dig the "Another Boy". Kinda reminds me of Bennie and the Jets for some reason. Lyrics are very post 2000 Prince.
CM is my jam!! I had to grab my axe and go to work with this one!
Who ever said Prince has lost it - has lost it. The Kid's still got game!
