I think they "promised" us at least 4 cds of new material. As it is, we get one cd of new material and 3 cds of mostly previously released material only performed live.
But since they never used the exact words "we promise" then I guess they didn't promise us anything.

in the tourbook that i saw before i signed up, it said something to the effect of "join the npg music club and access these 4 cd's:

one nite alone
xenophobia
squiggle, best of
last december"

...so it wasn't prince looking into my eye and promising, it was his company advertising product. they have since reneged on that product, but do not allow for criticism or refunds. sounds like broken promises to ME.

They never did mention any titles on the site. It's not like the website said "GET THESE EXACT 4 CDs!!!". So while you may be disappointed that you didn't get "The Best of Symbol" - going by the official website, it never xisted in the first place.

And another thing they never said is "NEW MATERIAL" - they said 4 new Prince CDs. You know how many I count when I open up the box set? 4. Any complaint is becuase you made up in your mind what you were going to get and Prince exercised his freedom to do it his way. weird.

We didn't "make it up in our mind"... at the concert I attended those 4 titles were projected on to the back of the stage with the words "Join the club and access these 4 CDs".

Man I'm sorry but your opinion is flawed. What makes the website supercede an expensively produced glossy tour program? Prince is totally at liberty to change his mind BUT it was implied that if you joined the club you would have access to those four CDs and others (read the words). I agree that we were never promised 4 CDs of new music AND I agree that we are indeed receiving 4 CDs (personally I am happy to get live CDs after all these years). But the program said...

one nite alone
xenophobia
squiggle, best of
last december

Working titles or not, these are clearly four seperate albums whatever their content. IF Prince changed his mind then he should tell us using the webiste! It's a simple matter of false advertising (I'm not saying the club is not worth $100 and have a thread of my own saying that the 'worth' of the club is purely based on our individual experiences such as concerts, aftershows etc).
'I loved him then, I love him now and will love him eternally. He's with our son now.' Mayte 21st April 2016 = the saddest quote I have ever read! RIP Prince and thanks for everything.

You were supposed to get One Nite Alone, Xenophobia, "Last December" and "The Best of O(->. They gave us every indication that we were supposed to receive these CDs.

- Songs from 3 of the CDs where given to us a the end of the 2001 NPGMC membership to entice us to join the club for 2002
- The 4 Albums where mention in the ONA Program
- The celebration was called what? XENOPHOBIA!!!

Am I delusional?

Yes, and that was a good factor on why eye joined, and now, those cd's seemed to dissolve..

Eye cant actually believe people are still b*tching at the people who are actually disapointed in the club. I am for one, simply because the cd's they PROMISED for us to GET in the TOURBOOK have changed.. thats straight up BS

umm yeah, people who join after getting screwed like that, get what they deserve if u join in 03..

3 cds of mostly previously released material only performed live.

live albums are not normally reffered to as "previously released material."

I am just disappointed at what I got. I got a not so good acoustic CD & haven't received my ONA LIVE yet. I was really expecting the year to be filled with goodies being a first time member & in return for $100 all I got was an acoustic CD & Live ONA(any day now) that anyone can get & in some cases before me. He didn't tour near MASS so I was left out on the shows but that is ok. I just think that he had been talking for years about changing the industry practice for the better & I feel that he is changing it for the worse. If artists & buyers are bitter about the price of cd's & the quality of music in the mainstream what the heck is going to make them join this club to get the same old crap & for more money than you can buy it in a store. I have always been a Prince fan & I don't need my money back (gots plenty of that) but I would never join his club again because to me it just isn't worth it & I have been collecting his stuff since 83'.

Here's how i personally look at it - the 1st year each month we got something for our money & even though i planned to see him in concert-my doing so fell through when he cancelled the tour by me after that years celebration due to his foot injury-still i felt content enough to try year 2.In year 2 all i got was one new download,1/2 of a new piano cd(got 1st half in year one)& still waiting for ONA...Live(i doubt i'll get it before it's on sell to general public, but i can only wait).I was given the opportunity to attend another concert this year, but once again he cancelled the 1st date given & changed it to a later date with about a weeks notice. This was a problem for my wife & me as she has to give a month's notice to get time off-so when we got the 1st date -she scheduled that week off so we could travel 400 miles to the nearest concert. We thought this would make a nice vacation time for both of us-you see we have 2 great kids & had to arrange for someone to look after them,as it was school time.So imagine how we felt when he changed the concert date to 9 or 10 days later!Still i kept the "faith" by looking forward to him possible coming to tour "close" to us again(never happened) & still felt good looking forward to getting 4 different cds.Well i got the 1st in August -after reading numerous reports from everyone here on the org. about it.Still felt alright looking forward to 3 more different cds by end of Feb,2003.Then i find out the year ends in December(i except my own fault for that not paying attention to npgmc wordings),though i thought a years membership meant 12 months-not 10!Still i supported it till i find out now i get only 1 more cd plus another copy of the 1st one i received! So i hope you all read this with understanding & why i personally feel let down-because no matter what i still felt like $100 for only 4 cds was still too much to charge, but i thought Prince would come through. However i sit here now on the last day of the npgmc's 9th month(real time:11th month) & now realize -he didn't come through & therefore cannot support this club a 3rd time. Remember fool me once, shame on you-fool me twice shame on me-but fool me three times...well you should know the answer to that! Thanks for indulging me this time & space
