Design Your Ideal NPGMC Site I am reading all this negative stuff about the NPGMC site and what it offers and what it fails to offer and so instead of moaning, let's think of ways that it could be improved.
To be honest, I rarely go to the site as I think it's extremely boring. I don't like being patronised and the spelling is irritating. There seems to be no order there, the downloads are random, the CDs on offer seem to be chosen randomly too. I don't like anything in the merchandise section, except the guitars (which although are "suitable for playing"-thank God- I can't afford) and it all takes so long to move from page to page. Frankly I think the site lacks soul. There seems to be very little feel-good factor about visiting the site, with minimal interaction with the members. I only joined the club this year for the concert perks and I really want a good reason to rejoin. I had to come to the org for most information about concerts and aftershows when I should have been getting it from the club of which I was a paying member. However, I would like to support a man who has taken on the might of a major record company and has had the vision to follow his dream. This cannot be easy for Prince; he is a musician and the reason why we are on this site. He may be a genius when it comes to sound, but sites r a different matter. Let us guide him through the purple maze... So, what can we change about the NPGMC site? Ok,I think the visuals are cool, they can stay. Although I fail to see the attraction with the wallpaper on offer. *I think the merchandise section needs to have as many Prince CDs as possible that can be bought separately, not just the New Power and Rave CDs. Whatever he owns (as in released CDs) should be on that site. *I think a lot of the clothing is junk. Do any of you actually wear these clothes? Apart from the odd tank top or babydoll T-shirt I wouldn't be seen dead in those clothes and I'm sure Prince wouldn't either.I bet he wouldn't even wear those clothes to clean the kitchen floor. If clothing is to be sold then I think it needs to be more stylish, more understated and something you won't get laughed at wearing. I'm not talking versace here, just something that doesn't look like it shot out of the 80s. *I think it would be good to sell things like music books on one page, (guitar tabs and piano music) to encourage the budding musicians amongst us to learn to play some good stuff. Maybe even sell a few more instruments, although this could be expensive for the club. *I think an uncensored message board would be a positive thing as the site is eerily biased at the moment. Like someone said in another post, there's nothing that makes u feel like you are part of a club, except when u are asked for your password (and also the contest song, which was a great idea and involved the fans in a creative way). *My ideal NPGMC site would involve lots of COMMUNICATION and excellent customer service. "High, we have no info on that" is simply not good enough. At the moment I get the impression that the staff either don't have any info to give or simply can't be bothered. No other company would get away with this. In the ideal NPGMC site, Paisley workers would have info and would supply us with the info. Look at the confusion regarding "ONA Live". Members are getting angry 'cause they don't know what "4 new CDs" really means, and all of this could be so easily avoided with a few informative e-mails. *In an ideal NPGMC world, members would be treated with respect.Members would not have to spend 10 hours on the net to buy a concert ticket, members would be valued and would not have to spend a further 5 hours in a queue to get a decent seat, members would certainly not be told that after spending another $100 on an aftershow ticket that their wristband had already been claimed by someone else with your ID (this was rectified but was annoying at the time). *I think NPGMC would be so much greater if there were all the things they have now, plus more access to the vault (at a price, like pay per view only pay per...listen!), more communication with members, a message board which had different forums discussing music, politics, religion, whatever, so the members could feel as though they were part of something, videos of performances at Paisley(for a fee if necessary) and webcams in every room at Paisley Park (only joking!) and correct spelling of words (do ewe want the next generation 2 b un ABEL to spell? Eye believe not). Sorry but it's late and I'm rambling. Seriously, give us your ideas for how you would like the NPGMC 2003 site to be (within reason) and maybe they could sort out some stuff to provide Prince fans with a better service. So the question is: If you could design next year's web site, what would you do? MAKE ME REJOIN! I DARE U!

My 1st suggestion would be to let EVERY member of theNPGMC vote on what they would like to have! I know we can't get everything we would like(examples-songs from the vault, videocam shows from concerts from Paisley Park & from selective cities, countries,& venues lol! wouldn't that be nice!)though i believe some of our serious request could be met-IF and ONLY IF Prince really CARED about his fans& not the almighty $

The NPGMC web page should have discussion forums where people can go to complain about Prince.org. People who disagree can come to Prince.org to complain about NPGMusicClub.com. Or maybe I'm being sarcastic.
