ONA Live overdubbed...... I know i'm a bit early about this.
None of us has actually HEARD the box... But i have a BAD feeling that this is not going to be "live"... It will be "live" with a LOT of overdubs... And it makes me sad... All concerts that i have on soundboard are GREAT!!! No need 2 overdub... He overdubbed the "Days of wild" single... And the "New York tape"... He "re-mixed" the outtakes on Crystal ball... Not a good "hint"... But i hope i'm WRONG! Give us da REAL live album, Prince! "X" | |

it says 'minimal overdubbing' or somethin like that..but yeh..there will be overdubs...prepare for the backlash...  | |

The version of "1+1+1+=3" on the CD single has no overdubs, like "Joy In Repetition" from the world Aftershow, heard many times during the ONA European Tour before the concerts start. However, the jam called "We Do This" wiht George Clinton, has a lot of filters on Clinton's voice... easy to compare with the version on the bootleg edition. | |

Most released "live" albums have some dubbing on them. Whether it's a bit here or there or a complete makeover. I think we should wait till we hear it before we start any complaining about this. | |

Heard it at the listening party in NY and the overdubs where present are very MINIMAL. They are undetectable on most tracks. "That...magic, the start of something revolutionary-the Minneapolis Sound, we should cherish it and not punish prince for not being able to replicate it."-Dreamshaman32 | |

Same with the SOTT video. As much as I love it, I wish it was just one concert without any little edits and overdubbs.
From what I can tell (except for the song order) Rave Un2 The Year 2000 has no overdubbs (if I'm wrong please point it out to me) As for ONA Live, I hope the overdubbs are just for segues into the next song. The One Nite Alone Live EP that Prince sent out to radio stations earlier in the year, and that quite a few fans got their hands on, contained what I would call very minimal overdubs, since I could really not hear anything extra, even though there may have been small things. No extra voices a la Days of Wild single, just some great quality live stuff, pretty raw. So if those 5 tracks on the EP are all on the live set and are an indicator for the rest of the songs, then I don't think we have anything to worry about. | |

Overdub means stuff added 2 a live track in studio, something dat was not actually played on stage (like It's Gonna B A Beautiful Nite on SOTT : if u listen 2 the recording of the Paris concert, u realise dat IGABN was played as an instrumental : all the vocals have been added in studio). & by the way, some1 here said the outtakes on Crystal Ball have been remixed. What do u mean ? 2 me they sound like the bootlegs versions we used 2 have. | |
