npgmc license question okay... so i rarely post here but i have a question (i've done a seach and cannot find anything and i'm sure this is REALLY OLD news but any help would be appreciated).
oh so long ago... when the npgmc was still doing their thing, i bought several of the on-line albums (chocolate invasion, even musicology i bought on-line). now that his internet presence is... nill... i can't play any of the files... i get an error that basically tells me the license cannot be found. i'm sure this has been talked about before but i couldn't find any info in here... am i alone and, if not, what are we to do?? those of us who didn't burn everything to disc once we purchased it? I can stop whenever I want! You don't believe me? Well, if you're such a good listener, why don't you watch this?!

The files you downloaded require the licences to enable them to be played.
If the licences can't be found, the files can't be played. Whilst the NPGMC existed, it was possible to connect to the site to renew a licence. This fcaility is no longer avauilable as the club (and memberships with it) ceased. ALT+PLS+RTN: Pure as a pane of ice. It's a gift.

What allows some people to play the files and others not? I can still play my files from NPGMC and didn't burn them to a disc and I keep hearing about others having issues with their licensures and not being able to play them. Of course, I didn't get a lot from the site, but all of the audio shows still play and other downloads.

I saved my licenses in a folder on my p.c. Maybe that has something 2 do with it but I'm not sure.

HURRY! while you can! Burn the files to audio CD and them rip them back into iTunes...it strips out the license requirement. I did this, and I can play the tracks. I think if you burn out of Windows Media player, then rip into iTunes, you will be safe. I had no clue about licenses or anything when I d/l'd from the site and didn't do anything, but have not had any problems with my computer playing the files. Guess I just got lucky. lol
