ONA Live - No DVD included *CONFIRMED*

I emailed gage.com, asking if there was a DVD included as a surprise. (I'm sure this was mentioned at some point).

"Here is the reply:

Dear Christopher,

No, it doesn't include a DVD.

Peace, Lori"

So there you have it, no DVD...shame.

HHHmmm but the person who has the boxset in her hand and is currently shipping them out says there is no DVD. I would take that as meaning it is highly likely that there will be no dvd. Unless pixies intercept the package in the post and stick one in! nana

This is just a passing thought, but do you think it is even legal for Prince's marketing company to be revealing such things? Especially if it is supposed to be a surprise? I don't think so...and if it is legal...I would imagine Prince would be PISSED.

I doubt it is illegal!!! I can't believe that Gage or Gage employees would be contractually bound not to respond to genuine questions requesting information regarding product which someone has already paid for, which is in the hands of the dispatcher ready for shipping, and where the dispatcher is able to verify that there is an 'In Progress' notice for dispatch of said goods to the inquiring purchaser.

Prince might be annoyed - equally he might simply think Gage were doing a good job by providing excellent customer service - which is presumably why the Music Club would choose them for their mail order work.

It would be ironic in the extreme if this representative of Gage were to be criticised by a client for providing good service to the client's fee-paying supporters!

Wait... so the NPGMC uses a marketing agency? Haven't people been saying they should do that all along? And I take it they only started using them recently, cos the NPGMC public relations are still as bad as ever!

They have used Gage for a fair while. Initially Gage were used shipping product featured on the 1-800 web site. When 1-800 was incorporated within the NPGMC website they continued to cover distribution. They have handled distribution of the club CDs and also responded to queries regarding tickets allocated for the Celebration and ONA tour. The email contact link to Gage was available on the former 1-800 website and has been available for a long time on the NPGMC site.

But whatever makes you think they are engaged to provide a marketing service? They handle product distribution. Some PR work is handled seperately by another agency e.g. the ONA tour of US used an agency based in the US, but promotion of the Club and its products is predominantly handled through the NPGMC website.

No one ever said there was a possibility of a DVD with ONA Live, did they??

I remember hearing "Xenophobia... coming soon to a monitor near you!" And we have heard enough about the Xenophobia project that we can confidently assume that there is an album or collection of "Xenophobia" recordings. So, my bet is that a Xenophobia package will include a DVD. I hope Candy, Miles Davis, and other recent collaborators are in this Xenophobia thing... Should we start a thread to complain about how long it's taking to get Xenophobia?? What about Roadhouse Garden?? When did complaining about that go out of fashion? I guess ONA Live is the latest org fashion, eh?

One night of the Celebration was "redone" (re:ONA), because it was filmed (that night bored the HELL outta me, maybe that was his intention, lmao)...that, and the "fake band" with audience shots at PP makes it seem that a film was or is being produced.

Whether he makes this a part of the set for members, or it is just another video for his archives remains to be seen. Sadly, he has not been known to release them.

I guess my post was confusing. The fake band was a serious of images displayed on a screen in the back of the stage during a Friday night party at Paisley - long after the Celly.
