What is this talk about MP3's on NPGMC site???

Hi ppl!
On amp I saw this post about some member who received an email from the NPGMC with a link in it that leads to an MP3 file of some of the Copenhagen Soundcheck!! Some other ppl confirmed this, the MP3 was only online for a few minutes...??? And I never read anything on this here on the ORG?? What is going on? Does the NPGMC wants to surprise ppl? Is this a joke? Please I hope some of U have more info on this, and if it is true:I would like to have a copy of this mp3 file

I should reserve judgment until we know if they are going to do this for other cities... but at the moment I'm thinking this is obscene! We all pay the same damn membership fee! And what's with the "please don't share this info"? Obviously it never worked but if you're going to stir up shit like this you need to give your reasons!

If it's 96kbps then I doubt it's official. They've never put up MP3s at anything less than 128 at the club.

I was sure most of my Ahdio shows were 128, but fair enough. Even so, Ahdio shows were 40-60 minutes long so they were an exception.

I find this very hard 2 believe. Mainly because Miles Davis could not have been at the Copenhagen Soudcheck. Miles Davis is dead. R.I.P. Nice try hoaxers!

I've heard the file too - it's no hoax. Did the instrumental have a name? I've just called it Copenhagen...

I am a Danish NPGMC member, and it's definately not a hoax!!

I was at the soundcheck and it's sooo goood to enjoy this funky jam once again. And again. And again. And again...



It has no title, it is NOT "Take Five" as someone said earlier. "Take Five" wasn't played at the soundcheck at all. It's a loose instrumental funk/jazz jam, quite smooth and fusion-like but with lota of wicked keyboard soloing.

I mailed NPGMC and asked what they had going on. They said it was just "a test"... so take it easy now - something is probably in the works and everybody will get a little piece of the cake soon. Stop whining about the club - they're doing their best, and the live 3CD set is planned to be on our doorsteps November 21st.

...and btw: NO, I can NOT mail you guys the mp3, cuz my computer is at work, and the company's mail system will not accept so large attachments... (sad but true)

I forgot to mention that the mp3 is called NPGMC_Copenhagen_PrinceNPG.mp3 and the hookline from Miles Davis' "Jean Pierre" can be heard after 00:42 - the horns play it and repeat it louder the second time, just before Prince says "Renato" and the piano solo starts...

YEP, this is VERY TRUE. Official from NPGMC!!! No shit. They are up to something. I think we will get a special download at the end of our membership. Think this:

They needed a place to try it out. Denmark has only a few members, so this would be a nice place to try it. Now they do have our e-mail adresses. They know which concerts we went to as we bought them at the club. They tape all concerts. They could send a mail to us with a link to the shows we attended and that would be the best way to end our membership. YES!!!

Yes! I was thinking that it would have been cool if the ONA Live CDs were different for different countries but the download idea sounds a lot more practical (if such a word exists in the NPGMC dictionary!).

Why do some ppl get so uptight on here nowadays...sheeesh!!!

Is this mp3 a soundboard recording? If yes then there is no doubt it has come from the npgmc...simple as that!!!

Now i just gotta track it down...
