NUMBER OF MEMBERS OF NPGMC

This is a bit pathetic but what do yous think?:

My order number for One Nite Alone Live! Box Set is

# 56721

What are the chances this represents me as the 56, 721 member?

Anyone have the number 01? Or a higher order number?

Why wouldn't you reveal the number of members? Wants to hide?

Order numbers are consecutive?
I.e.: tickets, etc count as well.

Also most companies assign order numbers within a particular range, i.e 50,000-99,999 so they can differentiate between sales orders/purchase orders etc.

There is no way there are 57,000 members!

5,700 would be more like it...

I beleive that there are between 10-20,000. I say this because just judging from the 2 shows I saw last year, there were close to 200 people who purchased tickets for the show. I see there being more than 5,000 people. 5,000 is not a lot of people (though that would make for a hefty bank roll-- a half million dollars to be exact). For Prince, that would not be enough money for him to net since he is producing cds with full artwork, lyrics, etc. I know cds don't cost a hell of a lot to produce, but I feel that Prince has taken into consideration that he has a staff of people to pay as well as studio cost (recording equipment, electricity, paying musicians, etc.).

If he has 10,000 members, he is given a million dollars to work with. Still not a lot, but he probably wont go into a hole.

But remember, there were 200-1000 member tickets at each of the

ONA shows. I know some members attended more than one...but still,

with all the shows mutiplied by the modest estimate of 500 members

would give way more that 5700 in the United States alone.

I also think that there are more...even more than 10,000 world-wide.

This does not even take into consideration the sale of NPG gear

from the club site...$25 T-shirts and caps??? CDs, jewelry,

videos...enough to pay the staff and all that postage with change to spare. nod
So...how's everybody doing? smile

I'm sure it must be more than 20,000?!

world wide with internet access?

Prince.org should set up a poll, click once if you're a member of NPMC and count and display the results.

Surely at LEAST 70% of NPGMC members visit the org, nes't pas?

(Though I won't join next year if it goes back to downloads)

I was going to say around 5000 but then I did some maths and came up with the following.

In Europe there have been close on 30 shows (I think). There have been around 200-300 members (plus a guest) at each show. Okay, a lot of us went every night (multiple nights) and some even travelled all over Europe (how much money d'you make). But allowing for all that you gotta guess that in Europe there are around 3000 or so. Now add in the States etc and I believe the total worldwide number must be around 10,000.

If that is so then 10,000 x $100 = $1 million.

That's not a bad guaranteed advance income every year!

I guess this number may be quite close.
My ONA piano and live CDs have confirmation numbers that are about 11000+ apart.

For the Nighttown gig we had confirmation numbers in the 50xxx range?
What else was on sale?

I do think that using the confirmation numbers we can also make a nice estimate on the number of orders. My guess would be that all the 'orders' for the CD are placed into the system at once. We know that the confirmation number is consecutive. I would assume that they put the members in by there lastname. That would leave us with the task of finding the person who)s lastnames ends with an 'a' and another whose lastname starts with a 'z'.

Just to let you know my last name starts with a 'v' and my number is 64021. That would mean that between me and COMON there are some 7300 members.

COMON, where does your last name start with?

"Apparently" CRYSTAL BALL sold over 250,000 copies but the truth was it sold over 85,000

Last year, NPGMC had over 15,000 members.

ONA piano cd: $25

ONA LIVE cd: $75

NPGMC membership: pricele$$

My order is 54600. Assuming that all the ONA live were processed at once, given consecutive order numbers and taking into account the blueangels order of 64950, we have
10350 members at least. Assuming that my order is unlikely to be the first and angels unlikely to be the last, I don't think it is too much of a stretch to assume over 15,000 members assuming the previously mentioned assumptions.

A lot of assumption going on to arrive at that though and you know what they say about assumption.

Come on folks, do U think Mr Secrecy is going to let u find out? He probably sauntered past his NPGMC staff with a scowl when they were sorting the orders out, and muttered through his voice-box: "add an exta zero...and stick a seven in it somewhere...welcome 2 the dawn"

I wouldn't worry too much about his financial situation. This man's still getting royalties from all sorts of people.

"NPGMC members don't matter to-nite, they sure didn't matter yesterday, just when u think u've got more than enough, that's when they all move over 2 audio galaxy. That's when u find out that you're better off sueing all the faaan-sites, cause NPGMC members didn't matter yesterday and they sure don't matter to-nite"

I'm being harsh...the club just needs some organisation and communication with the members. THe man is doing this alone. He's a musician, he shouldn't have to do all this too.
