Lately there has been nothing but bad reports about NPGMC, about CDs, aftershow tickets etc. Any1 got good reports?

Well I do have one good thing to say - Princes choice of vene for the London gigs was great!!! Despite the fact I didnt get good tickets because the NPGMC screwed up (ooops ) I still had a brilliant view and my girlfriend loved it. She hadnt seen Prince before and,fortunately for me, he did one of the best shows I've seen AND played for 3 hrs.

Thats the thing with the little dude - he does what he's meant to do well but isnt to hot outside his field eg business...but the NPG shop should have told him that.

I was extremely unhappy with them when I thought he wasn't going to do the World Tour, as promised, but now he has embarked on it, I've got what I wanted out of the npgmc.

I didn't join for the music (I think most of it is mediocre and sub-standard anyway) but to see him live, from a good seat. I got that and am happy this year.

Also, when the tickets were released and we had the fiasco with most of us in England/London not being able to get any, It was frustrating for us, but the npgmc sorted that out too (in my case anyway).

On balance, I'm happy. Had he not toured, I wouldn't have been, but as I say, I got what I wanted and when I contacted the npgmc to complain about the problems with the tickets, they got back to me and everything was sorted. Yes, I'm happy but I appreciate I'm not in the majority here.

2 u RaneStarr i say a million thanks! Its time 4 Fams 2 become a part of positivity about the club and stop being the detractor which work against it! The club has is frailties but doesnt every buisness? Does every buisness give 100% customer service evry time 24/7? i think not! We r the ones who enjoy Princes music, the aim of the club is 2 form links between Prince and his fams and it is doing that. We r getting music, concert tix, aftershows etc etc what more can i say? I think its an excellent venture and its very organic in its nature and i think its very progressive and will only get bigger and better and more interactive! Lets say 4 example next year that Prince does something like a live webcam chat?? Will the same moaners and groaners complain then about it? my answer 2 this would b yeah they probably will! I think the club is fantastic and its really heading somewhere its gonna b even better in the next few months and years 2 come...And b4 u say it NO im not brainwashed and im not another "fanatic" im a very happy customer..."join the club"

But most businesses will at least try to make the customer happy if they have a complaint, even if they don't necessarily agree with that complaint.

If you bought a TV from an electrical shop that broke and when you took it back all they said to you was 'We suggest you don't buy another TV from us again' or maybe 'The two year warranty for the TV was just an idea we had when you first bought it', would you be happy? And if they then proceeded to tell you that 'The less people who buy our TVs, the more there'll be for other customers', you'd probably smash the TV over their head.

I've said it before in another thread, but I wish that the people who are happy with the NPGMC would also accept that there are some people who aren't. It's not just one or two people who are complaining - it's clearly quite a number and I'm sure that there are a lot more unhappy customers who don't post on the Org.

I can understand people saying that the club is 'still in it's teething stages' and 'Prince will come true in the end', but surely any business that takes your money in advance and then proceeds to tell you that there will be absolutely NO refunds given, had better be getting things right from the start. Prince is giving us no leeway on our part of the agreement ($100), therefore I think it's only fair that we are allowed to complain should he start to mess around with his part of the bargain.

Oh, and in response to the question posed at the beginning of the thread - I do quite like the song Arboretum.

hmm. trying, here. $100 membership, no refunds, npgmc website initially advertising album concepts that never materialized, one CD mailing since let's see. february, march, april, may, june, july, august, september, october. . . . . . .
and the one CD of material we got is composed in part of material we already bought last year.. granted it was nice but still..

and whenever members, loyal supporters who trustingly fronted the $$$ to their hero with no guarantees, raise their hands and say "excuse me sir, excuse me? what can we expect to receive this year and when?" they get . 'we have no in4mation on that' . . .

okay. the NPGMC is the VERY BEST example of an ineffective, underdeveloped, understaffed marketing tool i've seen on the web in a long time.

and yes, i'm totally, 100% wishing for it to succeed. i just honestly can't think of anything nicer to say right now.

Sure! I loved the great deal I got on the week long pass to the Xenophobia Celebration at Paisley Park...now THAT was a bargain...

For those who are members and attended - I am sure they feel that the celly alone - even without the 4 CDs - was worth the cost of membership, plus the extra $250...

HolyRiver started the thread 2 find out some positive aspects of npgmc i am expressing my total support 4 it, its a fantastic venture and one that i feel deserves my support...if u dont like the club dont join? now doesnt that make sense?
