A CHANGE OF RULES FOR NPGMC MEMBERS FOR NOVEMBER 2ND SHOWS? I have posted this to NPGMC a short time ago...I think it's an issue close to many members hearts - why change the rules at this late stage?
Good afternoon NPGMC, Can you clarify the club's position on something for me please? I feel slightly hard done by reading the latest concert news on your site, I have bought tix for the week long Xenophobia Celebration this year, 3 London concerts and had access to an aftershow, as part of my London ticket on Oct. 5th. I have a ticket for Rotterdam on Nov. 2nd also - the first set of tickets went on sale some weeks ago, so having spent a lot of money following Prince, and supporting the NPGMC this year it now seems very unfair to me that having spent all of this money, on the off chance that once in a while I will be rewarded with something one-off or special [i.e. an aftershow on the last night of the European Tour], which was always going to be a possibility, NPGMC now says that I have to buy another ticket! Can this be accurate? At every stage of this tour members have never been asked to pay for 2 shows in one night, part of the privilege of being a ticket holder for the main show was that we got into special events, be they parties or additional concerts later on that night. This to me is unreasonable and unfair, will Prince now play a much shorter show earlier in the evening, and save himself for the few who turn up to this late night one-off show? It isn't fair to treat people, who support this club and its ideas, this way. Financially and in terms of my time I have invested a lot in this club, but now at the last minute I'm asked to pay for more tickets to an event, which at any other stage of this tour, I would have been guaranteed free entry to? That does not seem at all fair, is this a money issue? Please try and respond to me on this, I just don't understand why this has happened...can you clarify the position in light of what I've just said? Yours sincerely,

How do get the time and money to see all these concerts? Anyone would think you'd seen enough to start bitching about a further show. Get a grip.

Tokyo,
I think you wrote an excellent email to the NPGMC and I agree wholeheartedly with what you said. Moreover I admire the way you calmly and respectfully expressed yourself. You are right the NPGMC DID change "the rules" at the last minute. But did you get an answer from them? I didn't... Imo it IS amoney issue. Prince doesn't play just for fun anymore. money first for this "artist". peace You are not my "friend" because you threaten my security.

""At every stage of this tour members have never been asked to pay for 2 shows in one night, part of the privilege of being a ticket holder for the main show was that we got into special events, be they parties or additional concerts later on that night.""
... Well I hate to break up your little rant but in the USA he did a late night show that started after midnight. Washington March 29 Started 12.10am - 2:48a.m so you can forget that "at every stage of this tour" bit he HAS done this before, so stick that "changing the rules for dutch fans" where the sun don't shine ok ?

BZZZTT Wrong answer. 1. Washington was announced at the same time when the other dates were announced, not halfway through the tour, as was the case with both Paris and Rotterdam. 2. The Washington show did not take place AFTER a regular show. It is truly a late night show. But it's all water under the bridge now. PS. Any news of an Australian tour yet?

1. Washington was announced at the same time when the other dates were announced, not halfway through the tour, as was the case with both Paris and Rotterdam.
And that has ANY relevance whatsoever how exactly ? 2. The Washington show did not take place AFTER a regular show. It is truly a late night show. And again what difference does that make ? If you are just going to throw facts around - try and have a point.

And that has ANY relevance whatsoever how exactly ? People knew up front that this show was part of the regular shows and not a surprise aftershow. 2. The Washington show did not take place AFTER a regular show. It is truly a late night show. And again what difference does that make ? Normally with Prince every show after a regular show is an aftershow. London, Dublin and Copenhagen were all aftershows. Paris and Rotterdam were late night shows, yet they took place after a regular show as well, yet were billed as late night. If you are just going to throw facts around - try and have a point. Do you really don't get it, or are you just fuckin' around?

I can understand everyone on this site without a problem. It's just when it comes to you, I don't know what happens. I'll tell you what happens. We've got a point you're not willing to see. You got a point we see, but do not happen to agree with. See the difference? But I can understand, with english not being your native tongue and all... Ahh now, don't use the language thing again. It's so lame, old, tired, often used and it doesn't work. Not in this case. don't worry about it ok ?
you will improve with practice I don't worry. See, we got the advantage here. We can improve our english (should that be neccessary) because that's a skill that can be mastered, I doubt you could imrove your empathy that easy though. But don't sweat it. It's the way it is.
